Hey there ! I just bought a Norc cq-311 (ar-15 copy).
The upper has an attached carry handle and I was thinking about getting a stripped upper with the flat top on it.
So my question is , to anyone that may know. Are the parts interchangable? Will all the insides from the norc upper go into a north american made upper?
Thanks

If you wish to put the Norinco barrel onto a north american upper you will need to change the barrel nut.I just happen to have a couple of those and I need a Norinco barrel nut! Otherwise, you can drop just about any upper onto the Norinco lower.
The only parts you need to put into the upper, the bolt, bolt carrier and charging handle will fit your flat top upper.

Great little guns by the way, what is your overall plan?

You will also have to drill the front and rear takedown pin holes to fit the larger holes on the new upper.

I have not seen this and have done a couple of these jobs. Putting flat top recievers on Norc lowers. If you are using old Colt uppers perhaps but I've not had a problem with D.P.M.S., Eagle or Bushmaster.

Nope I changed mine to a flat top upper and did not have to re drill the holes ,as said I had to change the barrel nut and that was it
