This subject has been beaten to death, I know, but I mentioned in another thread if you just use some Flitz on them they don't rust and they look as good as any other blued gun. Well, someone asked me to post pictures, and I do happen to have some before pics and some after pics, so why not? First before

Then after

The dark spot above the slide stop is actually a reflection of my head as I was taking the picture.
This one shows the difference the best

Remember to follow the instructions, and don't over do it.

I used some Blue Magic and a cloth wheel on my dremel, make sure it's cloth and not felt, the felt is too hard, the cloth is a lot easier to work with, it's hard to tell the difference in the photo, but with a little work these Norc's can turn into very nice guns. I enjoy shooting this more than my other handguns costing twice as much. If you love to tinker with your guns, then you NEED a Norinco, it;'s the ultimate hobby gun, and due to the cheap price and availability of parts, if you screw up it's no big deal.

All the pictures I see in this thread so far are cheaters - cheating with light and angles. If a picture is taken with good lighting and at the right angles, the Norc pistols will still look terrible. Polish marks, uneven surfaces at some areas, sharp edges, etc.

The Norc factory is stupid enough not to parkerize their guns, but did a glossy blue which shows off the defects. They thought they were Colts?!

Sorry sunshine, the standard Norc blue as it comes from the factory does not reflect light, after thorough cleaning and a simple application of common metal polish it does. Are these pistols externally perfect, no. As we have seen on other threads however, they are accurate, they are reliable and they are available for less than $400. They may not be the absolute best deal (I still think the Spartan is) but they are very close. The early Norcs were Parkerized, but they've come a long way in a short time just like Japan, Korea etc.

Yeah, not really accurate assesment there. My NP29 out of the box, no polishing, just Nork factory high polish blued finish.

Inside the dust cover looks like it was finished with a chainsaw.....but it's not visable and doesn't affect function.
