So here is the situation,
I picked up an unfinished M1A Walnut stock for pretty cheap.
I plan on taking all metal parts off my Norc wood stock and puting them on the M1A (not the ferrule, I had to order a new one as it is staked).
The only problem I can see after researching this, is the front sling swivel.
It's held on with rivets. I'll have to drill out the rivets to remove the swivel.
Has anyone else encountered this scenario before?
I'm thinking drill out the rivets, then find some matching colour flat screw and nut sets and lock-tite to set it to the stock.
Any help or guidance on this would be appreciated.

So the 10/32 held it on without interfering with the space inside the stock where the barrel will sit?
Did you just hit the local Hardware store for the screws and nuts?
I don't really care if the colour doesn't match either.

Actually I made a custom nut to fit in the recess, I'd forgotton about that. It really is just a thick washer that I tapped and glued into place

Good Day
