Those of you who use the Norc (or other) M14 style rifle for hunting, do you take the flash suppressor assembly off or do you leave it on?

I'm thinking about removing the flash suppressor assembly off of mine since I have a scope installed and thus no real need for a front sight.

Your thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I might take it off to lose a few of inches of essentially useless length (I'd happily put up with a few inches of barrel to get some more velocity and reduce the muzzle blast)
I did remove my FE to put on a muzzle brake, about the same length; but I gained useful (to me) features.

Personally, I like having them there even in the field. If you accidentally drop the nose into some mud, it keeps the muzzle from getting plugged ;)

great mod for hunter's exspecaily the smith muzzle brake ;)

I did... but also lopped it to 18.7" and put on a short birdcage...Quite happy with the size and look...I'll be installing an incredibly cheap scope, so I don't have need for the front sight either...:D
