So, went to the range 2 weeks ago, decided to sight in a new scope for the m305 and bam a few rounds in it stops cycling... thinking my gas plug is loose i switch up to something else and think nothing of it, today, finaly deciding well lets clean this thing and get it working again i find a surprise...

the piston itself is JAMMED sort of sideways... no amount of hitting moves it.... am i screwed here? does norinco have some sort of warrenty center? (LOL RIGHT?) do i need a new gas block and piston?

maybe heat up the gas tube first? Maybe that might loosen stuff up ant then try to straighten it in the gas tube with a small brass punch or something?

the only way for that to happen is if the piston is way out of spec or the gas tube is.

you tried removing the gas plug and using a punch to knock it lose from rear? there is no way it could wedge so bad as not to be able to punch it out once the glas plug is removed.

But if by some damnation it is truly jammed remove the gas tube, put it in a vice then use a punch to rotate the piston to its normal orientation. if that fails... well its a good thing the export exemption has been lifted to $500, a new gas tube complete is what $130 from treeline?

yeah, tried giving it a few good HARD hits from behind, and NOTHING, the thing looks like its dragged some metal off the bottom of the gas tube with the corner of the piston.... im gonna try to rotate it, but not sure what luck i will have

If you can try and weld a bolt to it and try a wrench to rotate it back? I have had to do that several times on studs on blocks so u might be able to pull it of on the norc or have a buddy do it

Just my .02$

so i wedged a steel chisel into the back end of the piston, and then rotated it while smacking it, got it out, looks like im missing a chuck from inside the gas tube... not sure how this happened but i may need a new tube... will put a few rounds through it this weekend and see what happens

Chinese quality again

It can hold it's breath for weeks as it swims ever so slowly just beneath the surface of the forums and just when you think the Gulf stream has carried it far offshore, or maybe it just ran out of air and sank to the frigid depths to finally become it's destiny which is fertilizer,.... it raises it's lumpy head again.

Right Dead ahead lads,....it's The Clue-Less Monster from a Clue-Ness.

Presume that was to say chunk missing inside the tube, don't shoot it until you replace the whole assembly with one from Treeline. It would damage the new piston you put in or really get fun if the gas cylinder opened up. The pulse of gas in the cylinder is very short, but also very high pressure. Bright side is your gun just called for a USGI update. :)

Even if it works, I would replace both parts and keep the others as back ups.
