norc m305 piston decided he didnt wanna come to work today

How come all these weird and wonderful problems dont happen to the Chinese SKS's?

Is the M305 factory the kindergarten class for gun makers in China
or is it were the "F" ranked gunsmith student practice there trade?

Have any of you guys had a discussion with the warranty department in China
about these issues, how did the conversasion go, fill us in we will be all ears.

I hate to read these post due to the fact that I cant afford the Fatima 542.

If the gas plug was fully installed and piston installed correctly, there is no way the piston could jam like that. Unless your piston is a full 1/4 inch shorter than it's supposed to be or your cylinder is a full 1/4 inch longer than it's supposed to be.

A lesson to be learned for everyone.
When reassembling that gas system, always always always, ensure piston is in right and fully protruding from gas cylinder at oprod end, before cranking down that gas plug.
I see no fault of the rifle here and many have done what the OP has shown in his pics.
Gas cylinder and piston are no doubt pooched, plug as well.
Spindle valve assembly and gas band plate would be salvageable

This issue presented here has zero to do with chinese rifles or the quality (or lack of) parts, assembly.
Unless of course, piston measurement shows it to be significantly short or cylinder is long.
Neither of these issues have ever presented before in chinese rifles/parts.... So, and not to be rude or anything, but installing piston incorrectly is operator error, not rifle quality.
no warranty for that I'm afraid ;)

Where to buy a gas system I need to get one since my welder almost destroyed mine while unitizing the system? May be good for op to know as well.

Ouch.... Tig weld only, with a heat sink preferably
Brownells carries bare springfield cylinders, plugs and pistons. Swap in your norinco gas band and spindle valve set (some emery cloth polishing of valve maybe). They also carry gas band plates.
You 'might" have to split up orders depending on brownells current export limit.
That or Treelinem14 or maybe Armtac , the latter being canadian and a dealer here.

45acpking is unfortunately correct on this one. And he's knows what he's talking about when it comes to these rifles. Inserting the piston wrong is an EASY mistake to make. An easy way to reassemble the gas system (after getting a new gas assembly from treeline of course ;-) ) is to use a ballpoint pen in the gas plug end to twist the piston until it falls freely toward the operating rod.

Thank you, problem with my gas system is we had to weld it 3 times and now its screwed it wont even slip back on. 1st weld it had a gap fo gas port didn't align then the weleder welded it back upside down then 3 rd time it looks like crap and wont slip on so it is destroyed. Least to say I wont go back their when I get the new one. Ill check armtac thank you again.

Yeah, I'm thinking anytime something goes wrong with these bowl-haircut rifles, I'm going to blame the bowl-haircuts. Their out to screw the western hemisphere plain and simple...fricking bowl-haircuts.
