Norc m305 question

So just picked up a used m305 and I'm curious about it, it's not at all like the last one I had, my last one had a pressed sheet steel mag release and spot welded gas block and muzzle brake, this. Ew one has a nice heavy machined mag release and threaded on gas block sight base and muzzle brake. And everything's tight, unlike my last one which rattled when you shake it. What's with the huge difference In Quality and How do you tell what year of manufacture ?

There's a good chance the previous owner fixed up the issues that these rifles normally
have
The QC is supposed to have improved in the latest batch of rifles that came in. The one I have is 2014 production I think, but still has a welded flash hider and improper indexing although it's not too bad

Well I figured out the extended mag release, it's a Tenda Canada mag release. Now to figure the rest out, it looks like it's had some upgrades. And it's tight no rattles, I'm not used to that in a Norc.

Sounds a bit like a DA Socom 18...these were very well put together rifles, sold by CanadaAmmo/Dominion Arms a few years ago. What is written on the left side of the receiver?

It's a norinco receiver, but there's parts of it that just aren't typical of norcs. Everything I listed above.

Hmm it may even be a sadlak release then, to bad they don't mark their products it's a tad annoying.

Sadlak clearly marks their mag release

It's a Wico electric rear sight on it so definitely an overhauled rebuilt rifle. I wonder how many GI parts are on it.

Also a portion of the trigger group appears to be another make as well, the steels darker and a different finish, and it looks like it was seated in a wood stock originally because it has a varnish wood finish on it.

Different colour trigger group parts isn't too out of the ordinary as metal composition and heat treat differences in each part will yield different shades in parkerizing.

Also as the solution becomes ''seasoned" the parts get darker.

Let's see some pictures!

I can't figure out how to post pics on here, never have, love gunnutz and have used it for years but it's not the most user friendly for posting pics lol

Myself and two buddies all bought a Norinco M305 in 2014 for $400.00 each, but they are all junk and came from one of the site retailers. All three orders with the 18.5" barrel, all three the front site is over rotated by 10 to 15 degrees, one the bolt was incredibly tight to the point where you need two hands to operate it, the other two the bolts where fine. We tried to get the retailer to fix the front sight issue but they did not want to even look at them, but they did take back the heavy bolt POS and replaced it with a better M305. Where the front sight is only slightly over rotated. The other two we took to a local gunsmith, he want nothing to do with them, his only advice was to cut the sight off the weld it on straight, and clean up the barrel as best possible, but he would not do it. We used a pipe wrench to twist he barrel back into straight, but this marked them up pretty bad, they shoot (I am honestly afraid of firing it, keep thinking it will blowup in my face) but are not pretty to look at. I never use mine. My first and last Norinco product. Buy junk get junk.

Are you sure the rifles are 2014 production? Just because they were bought in 2014 doesn't mean they are. I bought mine from FOC in early spring of this year and after the serial number it has CN 14 CA I'm not 100% sure but I think that might be the year of manufacture
This is my only norinco product too. Everything on it looks ok but I have yet to take it out for a test shoot. I have read that the rear sights are not very good and fall apart quickly on these.
