Hey whats up Guys...I just goy my AR and I have outfitted it with a CTR stock, CAA pistol grip and now I want to put on my Magpul MOE handguards and these bloody things are giving me a headache...they just wont go on! I have the tapco handguard tool I borrowed off my buddy and both rims clear the delta ring but it just wont snap together...When outside of the norc ar15 they fit perfect...I am super stumped and anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Is there maybe something i need to trim? and no there not PTS handguards...there real magpuls I bought off a CGNer it has the metal insert as well.

Here are some pics to describe my problem in detail...thanks

ROB

first thing you need to do iris read up on all the previous threads on this issue, next thing is get a Dremel. or you can go get a rail system the fits Norincos...

a moderator should really sticky a thread regarding this.

I did a search and really didnt find anything i shall search again...and i have dremelled a few places on the handguard doesnt seem to help....I guess im not doing it right

I have never had to do one, but there are more than a few guys here who truly feel your pain...that's why I went with a VTAC hand guard on my Norinco.

I know that the Troy and Daniel Defense both fit....

here are a few links to your issue

I put a set on my Norc yesterday , had to file fit for sure, only did the front of the lower handguard, also had to remove that tiny piece on the lower guard that fits outside of the front cap. I was close to just ordering a Mil-Spec front handguard cap and front site tool but didnt want to have to wait lol.

I should have taken pics of what I removed, they are on now and are very snug so they are staying on there lol.

oh man too bad u didnt take pics. well im off to the bench to do some fit and finish
i really appreciate the tips guys ill let you know what happens

Well guys problem has been solved...big thx goies out to pbr streetgang and MET for helping me out on the situation...i basically went to town on the front part only and got it real thin and boom they snapped together! WOOHOO

Thanks again

Well, this is kinda late in checking in with this handguard problem...but...

I pulled off the pistol grip, telestock and handguards and painted them foliage green.

Re-assembly all went well until I tried to fit the handguards.

Brownells offers a $25.00 tool for this purpose. I bought it because I was having a real problem with re-installing.

Brownells claims that the tool makes it a one man job...not so ...it's still a two man job, but it certainly succeeds in accomplishing the task.

HTH.

Where did you take off material? Any pics you can share?

I should have taken pics but didnt bcuz like many others said once there on! there on! haha and we dont want to take them off anymore bcuz its a PITA! hahaa...but ur basically only fooling around with the lower handguard at the front. the actual LIP portion that goes into the Handguard CAP. Basically your gonna want to take off material to reduce its thickness. so u want it thin. BTW I had a tapco handguard removal tool that makes it A LOT Easier task with trial and error (taking a bit off and then trying it to see if it fits) I basically did this a little at a time bcuz u dont want to take off too much. and it worked! now they are on their!
