Norc M4 Dust Cover removal

Everything I've read online refers to removal of a "c-clip" to allow the sliding out of the ejection dust port cover pin. On my Norc however I see no such clip, how exactly do you get the cover pin out so the cover can be removed/replaced?

Very carefully file the flat parts on the pin or remove the barrel nut and it will come right out..

I removed the barrel nut to do mine, I found a vid online that waked me through it, took less then 3min.

Or just cut it off and replace it with one that has a c-clip.
