Norc M4 optics question

So I ordered a Vortex Strikefire today and I am wondering what the best solution to use it would be. Should the front sight be removed or should I buy a flip up rear sight? If the front sight is removed is the barrel gonna look stupid in the spot where the sight was? How hard is the front sight removal? Any light shed on this would be appreciated.

Leave it on, get some sort of rear BUIS (fixed or folding) and get a mount high enough for a bottom third co-witness.

The Vortex unit comes with that mount, what do you suggest for a relatively cheap rear sight and where? Thanks.

Got mine from WWS came with the AR mount...I have removeable rear sight that mounts behind the strikefire , used it to set up the dot..I dont leave the rear sight on though. Need to find a folding BUIS for it..
