My buddy and I both bought one of these last spring , Mine has been jamming and breaking apart since I got it. His on the other hand has pretty much functioned flawlessly, Has anyone else had a similar problem with this model or am I just *lucky*

Np40

I bought one from a fellow Gunnut. It came with 2 mags and I bought 4 more from Marstar. I have used only cast lead hand loads (major power factor loads)and find some mags work better than others. (number your mags) Generally, the gun works fairly well and certainly isn't falling apart. It shoots better groups than the Norinco .45 Gov't, but my small hands hate the wide grips. I also noticed that the ads for the gun gave me the impression that it was about the same as a CZ 85. Not true! I tried a 9mm CZ 85 combat and found it to have a smaller grip and better feel. The NP 40 grip is maybe 3/16" wider than the CZ. I prefer my Grand Power. All said and done, I would consider selling the NP 40 only because of the grip. The fit and finish are better than the Norc 1911. Hope this helps. Geoff

The NP-40 is closer to a CZ 75B and NOT the 85 as listed on website. That being said, my buddy got one 3 weeks ago. It eats up reloads (Cast 180gr, RNFP 180gr, and RN 180gr) Loads from min to max with tightgroup. Pistol cycles well. Don't like the sights, ordered a set of PSI adjustable TPU sights. I will also be ordering a set of custom wood grips for it.
My NP-40 should arrive this Friday. For the price, it is well built and the finish is more than acceptable as far as I'm concerned.
If you are having problems, Marstar garantees it for a year... unless you bought it elsewhere?

I checked the sight dovetail on my NZ-85 against a CZ-75, there was about a millimetre of differance between the 2. Dam if I can remember which was larger! The Nork slide is also slightly taller than the CZ.

What aftermarket components do you use with this pistol and where were they purchased ? Clips , holster (IPSC grade speed rig , kydex, etc) favourite handloads and what flavour of powder and bullet ( PF if you know it ) . Got the thread going now on this pistol and figured might as well get as much info as possible on it.

I load 4.4gr Tightgroup with a 180gr Frontier RNFP copper plated bullet.

Ordered spare mag for a CZ-75 .40S&W made by ProMag in the U.S. $20USD from AjaxGrips in the US.

Also ordered a set of PSI TPU adjustable sights for $45USD and a set of Hogue rubber pistol grips $17USD, also from Ajax.

I am going to order a pair of Zebrawood Left handed target grips from a guy in Hungary. Sells for $45USD shipped to Canada. He is in the process of designing the CNC program for the lefty grips!

As for holsters... I will probably order the Bianchi CarryLok 82 in a size 14. Custom made holsters are expensive and have deliveries up to 6 MONTHS  As well, a custom holster may not fit the NP-40 very well as the slide and front of frame are not identical to the CZ pistol. The Bianchi is a more generic style holster which fits a wide range of similar pistols. The holster will be for CCW in the U.S. and not for IPSC shooting.

NP 40 holster

I ordered a Fobus holster for a CZ 75 and it was too narrow. The fix was to drill out the rivets and insert a couple of washers and then put together with some SS machine screws. It works OK, just looks non-stock.

Lol, I am in the process of the the exact same thing with the Fobus  , as far as I can tell it's about the only option at the moment with the unique trigger guard shape . I hesitate to invest in a speedsec unit for fear of having another unusable rig to add to my collection.

yes, they are 10 round mags, and CZ mags fit well
I use a holster originally bought for my P85 from shado holsters in Florida - got it online, the NP fits perfectly
Have now over 3,000 rounds of reloads, and factory, with not 1 problem- the only change made, was a Hogue finger groove grip put on

I also upgraded to LPA Fiber Optic sights, real sweet! I also bought a NZ85 (9mm) version. It is also built like a tank.

Give me a call at the shop I am sure I could explain a quick fix of your problem over the phone 1-888-744-0066.
