Norc' NZ-85 magazine issues

Getting back to the magazine problem...

I found a place in the states with cheaper Mecgar mags ($20 ea)...I have some on order right now. I'll let you know how that pans out in case the other (valid) suggestions above don't help.

Let us know, I tried some pre b mags that didn't fit they were too loose.

One of our IPSC shooters won his class in standard with a stock Norc .45 this last weekend, it's not that rare.

However most IPSC match winners I know have upgraded their equipment a few times over before taking home the top trophies.

A better and more useful statistic would be the number of new shooters who could afford to get started in our sports with entry-level guns courtesy of Norinco.

I have an NZ-85B and am still learning, Haven't had it in a proper competition yet.
You can't beat the price, and the fit and finish on mine is great. For plinking and $5 bets on paper targets at the range it can hold its own against $1500 berettas.

Well accuracy comes down to the shooter, So in that respect you can use mostly anything . As far as reliability goes can you put 10,000 rounds through that without a full rebuild? (no i will never own a norc, kinda beeing an ass)

This will never end it's like dodge and ford people.. we just have to learn to live with the fact we will never see eye to eye.. Even though dodge has ford hands down... :slap: ok i'll stop

Anyhoo....

I've got the mags pretty much sorted now. Two of them fixed themselves after I stuffed them for two nights and the other two where fixed with a bit of filing. Although I'll probably break out the file for all of them just to smooth them out a bit.

Thanks for the input guys!

It seems that those commie bastards decided to neuter the mags by punching a nasty hole in the back at the 10 round level and that the jagged pieces left over are what stop the follower.
That's odd. My NZ85 mag has a metal tab spot welded at the 10 cartridge level. It sounds like someone drilled out the spot welds to make the mags full capacity -- badly.

Nope, no drilling and no welds. They just rammed a punch through the mag casing to make a protrusion to stop the follower. -- Badly.

I've got a Norc NP40 (.40S&W). The mag shipped with it would fall out after the first shot was fired. I took the mag apart and expanded the sides a little. It does'nt drop (combat style) fully when mag released now but it stays in for all ten rounds. I've bought several after market mags MecGar, Pro-mag and CZ. They all work just fine. And yes I can out shoot guys with name brand guns.

If you wouldn't mind sharing where did you get the MecGar mags?
