Norc trigger guard blocked

Anyone see this before:

I have a norc shorty that I just acquired off the EE, when I try and strip it, I unlatch the trigger guard it only folds back about half way and then gets blocked by something, so it isn't fully releasing the trigger and I can't get the stock off.

With my full length norc once the trigger guard is unlatched it folds back without any resistance at all, so something's quite different here.

I'll look at it some more later tonight, maybe post a pic--but thought I would ask if anyone has seen anything like this before.

Now I know what the problem is. The pin that holds the magazine release latch has drifted over to the side and is preventing the trigger guard from flipping forward far enough to unlatch the stock. Tried to push it back in with a screwdriver but no luck. Will struggle some more later.

Any thoughts on how to get the trigger out so that can be repaired would be appreciated!

.... and after half an hours of prodding, tapping, pushing, twisting I finally got the $#*(@#$(#@ back in and out popped the trigger. The winning move was tapping at the opposite side with one screw driver and then forcing the pin back in on the other side with another. I guess randomly it eventually lined up and slid back in.

Now a serious question: What do I need to do to prevent that magazine release pin from drifting back out again? That is a royal PITA!!!

I had exactly the same problem with my shorty. I would suggest that you replace the pin entirely with a new one. The old one will probably break and cause more of the same problems.
