Hey all,

I have been looking into a SR22 for sometime, since i already own a 10/22 I decided to take a look into some kits to achieve the same look and maybe save a buck.

I found a kit from nordic components, who apparently make the chasis for the sr22: http://shop.nordiccomp.com/NC-AR22-Ruger-Stock-Kit-with-Hand-Guard-and-Butt-Stock-STK-AR22-ASM.htm

I was wondering if you guys think this kit is legal in Canada, I cant find any dealers up here with it so it makes me wonder......

I would think it will fine because its not far off from the archangel package except that its aluminum and not plastic and those are all over the place.

what do you guys think?

It's an accessory...there are no legal issues with outfitting your 10/22 with it. It even has the proper cutout so the serial number on your 10/22 receiver can be read with the kit installed. It's a good quality kit, but with the retail price of the SR-22, is it really still worth the price of the Nordic?

I outfitted mine with the Nordic kit a while ago before the SR-22 showed up. I opted for a Jim King barrel that uses an actual A2 sight, M4 handguard, flash hider, and ring...he even stepped my barrel, lol. But it did cost quite a bit of money.

Thanks for the reply,

I have some extra parts, except a barrel, and should only need the receiver cover to the kit. It is only 179$ and the dollar is at par so its not too bad.....

Where did you get your kit? and how would you compare it to the sr22?

thanks again

If you are looking for cost's ,do your self a real big favor and sell your 10/22 and buy the SR22. If it is for a project fill your boots , but it will still cost more to build it ..............

sell the 10/22 $200+ so you would be into the SR22 for $350 for the difference ($550 for the gun)

if you built of the exsisting 10/22 $284+shipp , new barrel $140+ and then any thing else after that ..............

Back in the older thread about the NEA chassis for the 10/22 chassis someone mentioned that the front tube handguard on the SR22/Nordic kit is not nearly as stable as one mounted on the NEA piece. It was stated that only the NEA would mount the front sight (if irons are used) solidly enough for the best accuracy.

Can anyone comment on this?

John

cant really see how the front tube on the SR22/Nordic would not be stable enough as it is threaded on , mine is soild as hell

NEA chassis more solid than Nordic, it's 2 parts, Nordic it's 3 parts.

And NEA chassis better if you want put sights, the receiver rail same level than the handguard.

gota say my receiver rail is the same hight as my handguard rail as well , unless you are useing your handguard as a crowbarr the nordic chassis would be fine .............

I want say AR15 handguards. And hundred choice of AR15 handguards, only one model for SR22 or Nordic

Soldner: What grip is that? I'm interested because I don't see a gap between the trigger guard and the grip...similar to how the SR-22 look. I hate the gap on mine.

You have to order it,it's the gap filler from nordic got mine from them : http://w ww.cactustactical.com/osc/nordic-components-gap-filler-for-ar22-stock-p-1946.html

Thanks, Soldner!

Iamnorris: I bought my Nordic kit online from the USA before it became an issue to buy stuff like that.
