Noreen Bad News or Desert Tactical

Okay I know I am dreaming a bit but I am seriously looking at a .338 but I want something a bit different.

I was looking at the Desert Tactical Stealth Recon Scout (SRS) just due to the overall lenght of the rifle. I know the advantages of the bolt action over my next choice.

My next consideration was the semi auto Noreen Bad News. They are both near the same price range but curious what others think of the 2. I do plan to use it for hunting and I like the practical ability to carry either weapon with ease in the bush.

Very nice. Tacticool! I prefer the Noreen. Just looks better. I know nothing about its shooting capabilities lol.

Don't waste your money on a gun that dominates your 200 yard restricted range. Plus bullpups are ###ier.
 
Cannot speak on the Bad News as I've never shot one. However as an owner and shooter of the DTA,I believe it is a great platform rifle.
Currently am set up with 3 factory conversions in 243,308 and 300wm. They all perform exceedingly well.
Will be adding my own custom barrels and chamberings (not difficult as the barrels work off an extension)
Now with the addition of optional forend (shorty) ,the flexibility of this rifle continues to grow.
It is a well designed/executed, accurate rifle with a high end price tag and NON restricted.
 
ONT0001, Thank you. That is exactly the kind of input I was looking for. I am still curious about the Bad News as if it is restricted or non. I am interested in a .338 have have wanted one for a while, but I want to buy one that should last me the rest of my life and do everything I want to do with it.
 
I wish i could comment on either rifle, but unfortunaly i cant.. when you say "do every thing i want it to do" what is that exactly??

the .338 is hailed for is long range accuracy, so the bolt gun is already ahead in that dept. im not saying the bad news isnt accurate, but the D.T being a bolt is goin to be inhernintly more accurate. As well as how much do you plan to shoot it? feeding a semi auto .338 is naturally goin to drive the cost on ammo waaay up. even loading your own, your looking at over $1 every time u pull that trigger.

If the Bad News is advertised as being built on the "AR Platform", then the rifle will be classed as restricted.....Sad to say any AR Variant, or anything based on the AR platform is classed as restricted in Canada........
 
I am just looking for something a bit on the "black" side that is going to replace my 7mm. I like shooting out to distance and want to have something to push past where my 7mm can now and then something I hopefully will be happy with for many years to come.

I realize the bolt action is going to be more accurate by design but still like the idea of a semi-auto .338. I really do like the DT SRS as it really mimics my RFB that I just purchased for more close range heavy bush.

The rounds I plan to put down range on either rifle is going to cost me because I intend to put down enough that it becomes an instinct to do so.
