Norico ar clone

Was there any offical comparsion report? If so I think many of us would like to see.

Yup... But it won't change any minds in the "buy a more expensive mouse trap" crowd.

I have a Norc, 360rnds to date... Will be 600 by tommorow afternoon...
3 Fail to fully chamber
1 Miss feed resulting in a bullet pushed into the case neck
I blame all on the ammo (mfs steel cases).

Its a 14" carbine semi auto rifle, for the intended purpose of the weapons design it is more then a bargain when I compare it to a colt or RRA at the same trim level... Buy it, beat it, love it.

The cheap Norinco M4 has been a winner for the price and over all quality ... but leave it stock.

It would be even better with cheap Norinco 556 ammo ;)

Just bought a noveske 12.5 inch.

1000 rnds in the past week
0 mal functions of any kind what so ever, and I was pushing it pretty hard.

223 is expensive enough that if you shoot the gun at all regularly you will be spending way more on ammo in a year then a well built AR.

a chinese AR is heresy.

PrimaIry customer of Norinco is the 3 million PLA. They make everything from AK to T88/ T97 etc, even TANK. l will have no doubt regarding their reliability. Cosmetic wise they may not be perfect. But I am sure it works. NEA AR is made from billet, but not 7075. l would really prefer 7075 than 6061. There is maybe 30% difference in material strength.

The difference is significantly more than 30% its more like 85% depending on the measurement.

I've just finished up burning up 300 rounds of Fiocchi 223 and a 1000 round case of MFS steel cased with my Norc M4. So far, two fails to feed (Both when teaching my father to use the carbine, and he was riding the charging handle in), and one fail to fire (MFS, dented primer, dud round). It shoots better then I do free hand, so I'm plenty satisfied for what I spent.

Dirt McGirt isn't making fun of anyone.
Just like we shouldn't make fun of anyone, who's first language is "jive".:)

My apologize to Mr.Dirt:redface: I hate to discriminate against anyones first language. Apparently we need a new section for all the Hommies on CGN so they have a place to communicate in any manner they see fit.

I'm waiting for an NEA and going to support our Home Boys! YO dog

I'm sad I sold mine. It was the best shooting AR I ever owned (although I have yet to test my LMT 308). I miss it enough that I'm going to buy another.

The fit and finish on the Norc AR's still leave something to be desired, but they're well made for the money, and function fantastically.

I would agree, for the most part... There are little finish issues with both our Norinco M4's, but they are so minor that there is NO WAY I would spend double the $ to buy an 'equivalent' AR platform...

For the price point, the new Norinco CQ M4 rifles are hard to beat! (With one exception...) IF the NEA 'sub 1000 $' rifles had been available 2 years ago when we bought our Norinco M4 rifles from Marstar... I would likely have bought NEA...

Cheers
Jay

We have billet 7075 T-6 Cadex lowers in stock ;) Flared Magwell, and the front of the magwell is grooved for increased grip. The are also made in Canada. :D

I was debating nabbing one of these up. Im ex miltary and experineced in the c7, wondering if ill just be disappointed in them or just save up and invest in a real one

Same as me. I bought 2. No regrets - although I bought one of the first batch that was poorly painted with the front sight not aligned properly.

Learnt me lesson - wait until the second batch of something new comes out before buying it.

From what I've heard, the Norincos aren't that bad... lots of people have them and they shoot fairly reliably. I myself purchased the Questar one and quite like it, but I think I should have gone for the RRA lower for only 100% more, but at least lowers aren't too expensive, and they're plentiful, there's also the NEA one that's generating a lot of buzz too, haven't heard much about them in terms of range reports, but could be worth the wait as well.

But, I'd say go for the Questar or NEA instead of the Norinco... that is IF you don't want to shell out over 1200 for another brand.

I had an old cq and it shot well and was reliable and reasonably accurate. If you are comparing to a c7 the only thing I think you will be disappointed over is that it is not select fire:D

Some stuff from norinco is crap and some stuff is pretty good. The cq is pretty good at its price point.

Same boat here (well except I'm not ex-military yet) heard a lot of positive about the norinco, and went and checked one out and I was not impressed. I'm sure it would still shoot like a damn, but fit/finish/feel just realy didn't move me to shell out for it. Instead I got a very gently used Rock River damn near identical to the C8 in the EE for about $300 more. Sure the Norincos seem to do their job right, but all said between the fit and finish, and the fact it will hold its resale value, I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. I say hold out to take a look at the new NEA, go to the EE or check out the Stags at Questar.

That's excellent. 7075T6 on top as well will be even more excellent!
Perhaps you can make them into different lines at different price?
I really want to replace my A2 Top half for soo long.
