Is the new Norinco JW25A still CZ 452 type bolt and compatible mag? I see they got rid of that awful scope mount base on left side. How are they for quality, accuracy etc? Barrels not turned on all the way like some were before, like on the m305.

I've had mine for about 3 months and love it. It's very accurate with the irons- it impressed me. So I probably won't scope it. Wood is pristine and metal is nice with a few machine marks on it. I haven't tried any CZ parts on it yet. To sum it up- mine was worth every penny.
How is your elevation adjustment? Do the marked yardages roughly correlate to distance or are they for show? I had one that was way out to lunch and returned it for that and other reasons. Just received its replacement and will try it tomorrow.

Mine has some of the nicest wood I have ever seen on a Norc. Very accurate ( haven't had it out further than 50 m) but my only complaint is that the front sight post is really thick, obscuring pretty much the entire target paper at 50m.
check my thread for more info, wood is nice but soft. Have some small issues that can be fixed if your handy. Bent front sight posts, screws not holding a plate in the fat front sight post is hard to see with such a small gap in rear. Once it all was worked out fixed up with irons I can make a 2 inch group standing with thunderbolt... cci close to 1 inch. This was just my experience, so ground down and fixed front post, painted front and rear sights, furniture marker for wood touch ups, hardware store for longer screw to hold floor plate in place. oer all for 190 free shipping.... CZ mags do work. I've bought random ones at gun shows and all have fed fine save for one ten rounder that has issues in general.
Makes me want to buy a proper CZ someday, but for now the Mauser look just tickles me. I fed it some sub sonics the other day and those were a hoot. I've had louder air guns

Mine has the worst bolt I've ever run on a bolt action, the machining is so rough it dragged against the bolt for the longest time, I spent hours with lapping compound and then painted with graphite paint, and it's better but still probably the roughest bolt action in the safe.
The screws for the rear site were too long, the site wiggled even when the screws were tight, had to grind them down, the barrel is tapered where the rear site post is mounted but the site isn't, it clamps down fine but this tells you something about the quality, the stock is ok, but the inletting around the back of the action and magazine well is sad, I could easily fit a wooden match stick between the metal and wood in some places.
The magazine was too tight for the ammo, the magazine pinched against the shells and sometimes wouldn't feed the next round, fixed this with pliers.
I wish the magazine well matched the AR style mags or LAR-15 mags.
Having said all that, i have fixed most of the issues, and I really would like to hate it, but the darn thing shoots really well. 300 yard gong with open sites pretty easy off a table.
The thread is about Norinco .22 LR. It sounds like your gun is in .223?
I have both models and am very happy with both, they are more accurate then a lot of American made guns I own.
There was a JW105 on here that blew apart...kept me from ever buying one.

This seems to be the story of Norinco's,some models are really good,others so so and others just plan bad.I understand they come from diferent factories and that may explain it.I have a JW15,a JW 20,a JW 23 and a NS522,all of which are very nice and good value for the money,no complaints but the JW 14 and .223 Bushranger don't seem to get good reviews
