Norinco 10/22?

are you kidding?? Why encouraging China even more? Why do people keep buying chicom stuff? We are shooting ourselves in the foot (figuratively) by encouraging them to dump cheap stuff on North AMerican markets. China spends $80 billion annually on military, America pays more than $80 billion in debt interest to China annually, more than China spends on the military. China is arming itself using Americans' (as well as Canadians') tax dollars. The more Chinese stuff we buy, the more our jobs migrate there, not even manufacturing, services as well. I support North American markets as much as I can, as much as possible, which isn't always easy, but c'mon no more Chinese crap here, and especially no more Chinese guns. THey've done enough damage to local manufacturers.

Amen.

What makes you think that China is a worse ally than the US is to us today? Has America not been arming itself with Canadian tax dollars for decades? I think you're watching the wrong news channels bud.

I love my Norinco's, and the point about making more firearms accessible to a greater population here in Canada is very valid. Not to mention having more firearms being sold by our Canadian dealers isn't exactly bad for our economy, it only hurts the US's gun economy.

but yet your way off , the "new norinco" your colt woodsman copy "m93" was made 20yrs ago and has been sitting in storage inless last year.
bbb

If the M-93 I had was produced 20 years ago, then that`s darn fine craftmanship, coming from China, from that era.
I gotta feeling that someday, I`ll be looking at a Colt or a Smith product and comment on how nice it is,
and then add, ``But it`s no Norinco``:)

maybe a market if they produced one in a different caliber.

first company that makes a semi-auto in 17 Winchester Super Magnum will probably get my money... 3000 fps, rimfire with no magazine capacity restrictions = too much fun.

If there was a like button for CGN posts I would have hit it. AMEN brother!

Heck - even if we could just get inexpensive, Chinese made 10/22 compatible parts for the cheap - who cares about an entirely assembled firearm?

As mentioned, I'd pay good money for a Charger length barrel (yes, I know I'd have to reclass if I added it to the receiver on my parts gun). There's no shortage of after market stocks.

If it would simplify the manufacturing process, maybe an option for CanAm would be to try bringing in a batch of receivers, bolts, charging handles and barrels.

While you're at it, you could source a number of Promag Archangel stocks to cut down on the manufacturing time (get the Chicom factories machining out the metal parts, buy pre-existing stocks, package then sell).

Total neo-con scare mongering. The US spends $700 billion annually on military spending. You think China spending just over 1/10th the US spends on it's military poses any real conventional military threat to anyone? China barely has a carrier fleet, while the entire North American infrastructure is perfectly conducive to the US military being able to invade Canada without batting an eye.

Also, it's not consumers fault jobs get shipped overseas. You can thank the government for that. Thanks to: environmental regulation, labour laws, minimum wage laws, CPP and EI, insurance laws, income tax laws (just to name a few, all of which constructs of the various governments over here) - domestic manufacturers don't stand a chance against foreign manufacturers.

China's government has been deregulating for decades, while North American governments has equally been ramping up the regulations in the same time frame.

Don't blame me as a savvy consumer for recognizing the value and wanting to save my hard earned wealth by buying Chinese goods. Don't blame fine businesses like CanAm for providing them. Blame your bonehead government for trying to micromanage the economy, failing miserably in the process.

After all - right this minute, if I could find a 1911 for $350, an AR-15 (with 2 mags and iron sites) for $700, or an autoloading .22 pistol for $150 with 2 mags - neither CanAm (as a retailer) nor I (as a consumer) would care where it's manufactured - CanAm would bring them in and I would buy them.
