Norinco 16" AR15s - is it possible?

Norinco 16" AR15s - is it possible?

I think Norinco skipped an important barrel size for us Canadians. Any chance of them making this?

The only reason other AR makers use 16 inch barrels is the 14.5 does not comply with US law , A carbine length AR should have a 14.5 barrel so the bayonet mounts proper . Chinese guns are banned in the US so theres no reason for tham to make a 16 .. I wish they made a 18 or 20 inch with a full length gas system .

Norinco finish may be questionable but it is an excellent reliable item if you take good care of it. Yes there are exceptions but the AR, M305 and the 1911 in my experience are excellent buys and will hold their own any place anytime. In addition, the 1911 is better than some US made brands without mentioning any names and I won’t so don’t even ask….lol

I personally doubt there's enough demand for a 16". Remember that Norinco isn't singling out Canadian civilians as a "market". We get the extras left over from major foreign military and police purchases.

If you want a 16" barrel on a norc, buy a new-used one off the EE and put it on yourself. It'll only take you an hour.

If they already had a "real order" for 16" barrel from Iran or who ever buy's their guns I could see us getting one. But if they had to manufacture one for us specifically and had to add a couple hundred to the price tag, it would price itself out of the market.

That wouldnt happen because no military or other country would be ordering 16" barrels. The only reason 16" barrels exist is for sale to US civilians. Since norinco cant sell to the US they have no reason for them to ever make a 16" barrel.
