maybe a stupid question but... why can't you change the mag tube to a remington 4 shot there for allowing remington barrels?

kinda new it wouldn't be simple as that.

fortunately i love my 5 shot. can't see wearing the barrel out. but it would be nice to change for ducks, rabbits ect.

a norinco 18.5 is a 5 shot tube. it won't take remington barrels. if it was normal then you could put a remington barrel and a extension. but as a 5 shot tube i can't. not sure were your going with your comment?

Wasn't going anywhere with it.. LOL I just realized you had said it doesn't take rem barrels. I'm assuming the mag tube is a different diameter. What model is this? Homeland security?

no brother its the riot model hp 9. the barrel is 18.5" and the mag tube is a 5 shot. all remington parts fit just not barrels because of the 5 shot tube. like i said no gig deal, i'll never shoot out the barrel. just like the thought if a barrel came my way i could use it.

im thinking that you can use standard barrels, IF you machine/modify a tube or cut a pipe to fit over the longer mag tube, and allow the mag tube cap to fit snugly to the machined tube/pipe.

I have thought before that this would work just fine. That diagram is perfect
