Norinco 1911 22lr?

I don't know if they do...

But if they did, given Norinco's other price points, the platform, and the caliber...

They'd sell them by the container full. And dealers could never keep them in stock.

Imagine having a full sized or commander length 1911 in .22 for 300-400$.

Sweet.

+1. The combination of cost, quality and performance would be fantastic in a .22 rimfire. I have 2 Norcs (NP-29 and NP-34) and would happily put a Norc 1911 .22 in the safe alongside the others. A tune up by Gunnar and you would have a great 1911 for a fantastic price.
