Norinco 1911 .45`

I love my norc 1911 its reliable and it'll go bang everytime you pull the trigger.
The best thing is the price, because you can modify it, beautify it, or do whatever you want and not feel bad.

here is mine, it was the black police norinco that marstar sells.

got some grips custom built by my dad , sanded all the hard lines and burs , did a trigger job, took some blue out and polished it to a mirror finish. oh and i got my self some kimber mags for it!

love it!

Bought one from Ellwood Epps.

I have shot a couple of high priced 1911's but not enough to make a decent comparison to the Norinco.

Mine eats everything I have stuffed down the pipe without a single belch or fart.
Barrels are stainless, frames are good hard steel.

Drop in trigger and Commander style hammer from Brownells made it look better.

Gamers may want to spend big bucks, but for those of us fulfilling our obligation of owning at least one 1911 (should be a law), you can't beat the Norinco.

Exactly why I bought mine. A friend is a 1911 aficiado and as fast as my Norc came outta the plastic wrap, it was stripped to the bare frame and completely cleaned and degreased. As we put it back together under his watchful eye, the trigger got a polish job, the mag release got tweaked and a Commander hammer was installed. This was before the first shot was fired. After the first range trip, the Norc mags were adjusted and the odd feeding issue was cured. A couple weeks later, I installed a Beavertail grip safety from Gunner (Armco) and am still looking at upgrading the mags. All in all, its an accurate, reliable shooter for popping away at the range. No it's not a Kimber or Springfield, but I don't use it for daily CC either.

There are always alot of them for sale, because there are vast numbers of them floating around, and people trade guns like kids trade marbles.

**P.S. That nickel norc 1911 for sale was mine, great gun, needed the money for other things.
 
Howdy, got my 1911 2 tone Norc. yesterday, quite impressed, seems like a real solidly built firearm.

The mag dropping seems to stick- anyone know an easy fix-lightly oil or?

It sure is quite a bit heavier than the wifes Ruger SR9, I put the wood/ribber grips on and it looks pretty good.

I don't think she will be shooting mine the near future just from the weight of it. Ha!

i've got the 2-tone police model.i'm very happy with it.
a couple of caveats though...

the mags aren't so great.
watch you don't lose the enlarged mag release button(a guy @ the range lost his)
worst is the ambidextrous{sp?} safety/the right one has a tendency to fall off 'cause the pin holding it in place is kinda cheesy-watch out for that...

saying this i'm still very happy with my purchase--approx. $365 to my door how can you go wrong...

Does yours have the thumb screw extended mag? I had the same issue with mine took the thumb screw out and the mags dropped fine.
I have an all blue on and I love it.
 
Howdy, no it doesn't, the top of the mag/spring lip seems to be hooking on the release.
I had it sort of apart and the mag release button area just kept leaking a dirty rust color, I'll keep playing with it. Later
 
Howdy, Great information-one more question for those of you that have stripped their guns.
The little screw that holds the clip relase button together, any trick in getting it to turn, I have put a lot of pressure on it but it doesn't seem to want to move and I am afraid I might break it.
It's not an opposite thread is it? Thanks Later
 
Push in like you want to pop out the mag then with a small flat head turn it and it will spring out.

Howdy, thanks again that worked like a damn. Release was extremely dirty/greasy, one mag drops and the other sticks.
I guess I will order a couple new ones for extras and hopefully they will work.
