Norinco 1911 45acp or Dominion Arms 1911?

I got one of the unmarked CanAm specials last year. Decent fit and finish. Needed a good dehorningn, but it shoots well. Grips were cracked, so I replaced them with a cheap pair of Hogues.

That's different: a should I buy a norc, or a norc? Thread. ;)

I'd personally buy neither. I know a fellow who is new to the game who has a brand new sport model, or whichever one has the extended this n that parts. He was happy with it. I tried it and found it was a very bad rattler with poorly fit sights and a horrible trigger and so-so accuracy.

And I'm not being a snob - I own and love a number of 1911s, only one of which retails above a grand new.

But on the flip side if you outgrow it you're not going to lose a whole lot on resale.

And on that note, maybe look on the EE for one? They are always listed in the $300 range.

I wouldn't buy neither the market is flooded with this stuff......save a few hundred $$$ more and buy a ruger...... If you only got 300$ to spend buy a llama no SAM or Norinco jam-o-matics for me........I'd even roll the dice on a para for a few hundred more before I'd buy a SAM or norinco

Yes i was definitely considering the Ruger sr1911 and am leaning towards that. Been interested in it for a while and might as well spend the extra few hundred and get a quality piece.

What he said. I had the Norc then ordered the SAM becuase of the price. The SAM has better sights, tighter fit, no sharp edges and is very accurate in the limited shooting I have done with it so far. The Norc was good, reliable and accurate but there is no comparison between the two, and for only $75 more the SAM is the better pistol. YMMV.
