Just got my Norinco back from Dlask with it's new bobtail main spring housing installed. Great job, and turn around from Joe as usual.

Does anyone know the actual composition of the two tone pistol's frame? If the cut area on the frame isn't protected I'm sure rust will develop. Currently, I've just oiled it. I would like to scrub the "exported by" and "made in" from the frame as well for a smooth clean look, so a complete frame resurface will be needed. I thought there was a thread a while ago on this, and someone had offered this exact service?

How are the markings typically removed from these pistols? Are they ground or milled down slightly deeper than the markings or are the markings filled with something like an epoxy?

I supplied all parts, so it was $80, plus shipping.

Very fair. How was the turnaround? Weeks? Months? Is the frame just in the white in your pics or is there a coating of some sort on it?

For removing the markings and refinishing you might try Murdoc at Arma-Coat: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=527086

+1 for Murdoc.

Armco can also remove these markings. Check the link to their site and services they offer. A friend has a good experience with them.

A forum search might be in order, there have been numerous complaints recently about Armco. Used to be considered a great place to deal with, but the service seems to be slipping lately.

The bobtail is looking excellent by the way.

+1, very nice.

Turn around, including to/from shipping was almost exactly 1 month. Good price and time in my opinion.

The frame is in factory finish, it looks like it has been brushed, but it is hard to tell if there is a coating of any sort over that.

Is there a bobtail mainspring housing that can be purchased, and then the frame is cut and blended to match that, or does the job involve shaping a mainspring housing as well. That looks really nice. . . Ed Brown on a Norinco budget!

1 month is very good, I agree. I take it the gun is a two tone? I had it in my head that the frame had been blued and then blasted for the work to be done, never even thought about the two tone.
