well i just took home a norinco 1911 comander today and i am shocked! i owned one a couple of years ago and its nothing compared to what i took out of the box today.

the new norinco has new milling on the slide front striations. it came with oversized mag realease, oversize bolt catch and bever tail. iam extreamly happy with this gun. and i cant wait to shoot it. pics and range report to follow.!

just wanted to tell you guys for under 400$ this gun is a hell of a lot value wise.!

I was also very pleasantly surprised. At first I thought the square trigger guard was a little different when I saw pictures but in real life I actually really like it. It's definitely a nice gun for the price in my opinion.

I think you will find it shoots better than you expect as well. There will always be nay sayers and those that poo-poo Rinc's but the new commander is amazing. I also have high end 1911's and bought the Commander as a fun gun and project platform but it performs as well as its cousins in the safe.
Shoot it and enjoy it. It eats just about anything too in the way of 45 ammo.
Cheers

Congrats on your new gun, after many years try this and that, buy this and that, I finally settle on 1911 and Glock. Those Norinco give you hell of fun time.

I have not had an opportunity to play with one. I am a bit of a 1911 snob however you have piqued my interest enough so that I will take a look at one the next chance I have. Have fun with it.

I'm not a fan. I bought one and sold promptly. I think the traditionalists turn green when they see the new "improvements" and for myself, I think it's a mess.

....and yet u bought one ?? The changes/enhancements are all external so it shouldnt be a surprise..I am not a fan of the square trigger guard, and promptly milled it off. Otherwise, none of the 1911 holsters fit.

I've had my Norinco 1911 Commander for a couple of months now, I to was impressed with the finish and it's fun to shoot.

So go out and enjoy it, you wont be disapointed.

not all girls are the same...

ah jeez… how do I put this delicately? Just about all girls are really, really nice, and sure, um… shoot great. And then you meet someone exceptional, and realize that the others… well, it’s just not the same thing :)

i think that the norc 911's have a bad rep as they are mostly a first handgun choice for a lot of folks who mostly never shot before. Shooting handguns is much harder to master and without training, most will blame the gun, not the shooter. I guarantee it, if you stick with it, it will be a great and relatively acurate combat pistol

No not really, I think it was the first or second shipment, they do have quite a bit of problems but Norinco almost addressed their problems and improved overtime. The NP-29 that I got while back function beautifully. But again if you take a look of America guns like early M&P and Sr-9, they also have a lot of issues.
