Norinco 1911 government $299 SALE

first and probably last handgun, awful experience

couldn't get through 7 rounds without jamming, no accuracy whatsoever, and very difficult to take apart

hoping CanAm will take it back, don't think I'll ever buy another norinco

edit: I was probably too harsh, there were some positives and it could just be a bad mag for all I know...two bad mags...I really want to like this gun because it feels solid and looks decent too in spite of the minor marks

Put at least a couple of hundred rds. through it, to break it in.

Maybe it's just the way I'm reading it but it almost sounds like he tried to take it apart to clean it AFTER he had issues with jamming. Any Norinco product I have ever seen needs a good thorough cleaning to get the cosmo out. Even an SKS will have issues firing properly with that grease in there!

Also, as for the accuracy, it was his first handgun, and a .45 at that.... how could he possibly know if the fault was his or the guns?

It didn't have that much cosmoline to begin with. I took it apart, sprayed on some gun cleaner, submerged it in hot water for about a minute, scraped it off with a bristle brush, applied lubricant and put it back together.

My CQA had more comsoline and for that I just took it apart and gave it a quick wipe down, it worked fine afterwards.

Also in regards to accuracy, I was only about 3m away.

I bought a few of these back when they had the combo. I kept one of them and I’m still pretty happy with it. For $279, it’s pretty tempting to grab another. And if there is ANY confusion, it is not the two-toned "police" or "sport" model or whatever they call it. Just the standard 1911A1 Government configuration except no Norinco or Made in China roll marks:

Man that's cheap.
I should really just buy it even though I picked up an AR and I'm sure that's all I will be using for a while...
