just looked at the registration i got from the RCMP. it was dated JUNE 27, 2013. i received it on the morning of the 25th. wtf :)
i got one good grip panel and one cracked in half. they are pretty poohy anyways, so definetly replacing.
some scratches and wear marks of some kind on the pistol. seems to function fine though. not looking forward to cleaning it.

are you guys just field stripping and cleaning the major stuff, or full detail stripping?

If you want to do it right, since it comes in a bag with full factory grease applied, a full detail strip is in order.

In fact, that's not a bad idea for any 1911/1911A1 you get.

Ordered May 17, recieved June 26.
The grips are sticky like licorice as others have said but I am completely happy with my purchase!
Thanks Canada Ammo!

Good onya stripperclipper, What a fantastic deal and a great inexpensive way for more people to get into sport handgun shooting! Maaan the anti's lead by Justine must be gut wrenched , seeing all these beautifull 1911's going to new owners! I am telling everyone I know who have been sitting on the fence about getting into the sport, mostly because of cost,, this is the time, I hope Canam has a boatload more of these great guns!

Got mine in today and gave her a good cleaning. Trigger is better than I expected (my nephew got one that creaks a little). A few sharp edges, but overall a darned good value. This one will be my range dog if I'm bringing out newbies and also a good way for me to start doing some more in-depth tinkering with 1911's. It did arrive with a cracked right grip, don't know if CanadaAmmo will replace it, but sent them an email anyhow. Will have to wait a week or so before I can take it out to the range. Be interesting to see how she performs compared to my Trojan.

Hey Guys.....Santa came early this year.....got my combo at 2:00 pm, that got it cleaned up within the next hour.....and a brand new set of grips (came from Marstar, half checkered ones). This baby looks friggin' gorgeous I tell you that!!! Finish is, well not bad at all for a 170 bucks gun that I thought I was going to use as a beater.....front sight is a bit off axis but guess what......anyone has a better opportunity to start learning and customizing than this deal? Without a question hell no!!! I doubt it, really!!!! Next thing will be another trigger, hammer, compensator and a flat checkered main sping housing.....bits of polishing here and there.....got one of my friends who does some engravings.....we'll see ;)

There's a couple of guys that did a pretty darn good job - yes Can Am - I'm speaking of you guys - of making this deal happen.....yeah it took a bit long to get it, but it's well worth the wait IMHO. If, anytime soon, you have another deal such as this one but in 9mm or .40 S&W, I'll certainly be up for it without a wait!!!! Keep up with the good work guys !!!!!

So I received my shipping info and tracking number yesterday June 28 (shipped June 27) and my order was placed on June 09....... should be delivered next week, around a month from order to delivery, not bad at all. I was expecting a much longer wait.
Thanks canam

Can anyone verify what the barrels on these guns are made of?...and don't tell me metal...{gunnutters}

As I understand, all the components are made from forged 5100 series steel. Even the tiny internal parts!

Makes it tough on tooling, but is a very strong steel.

(The extractor is probably of a different material and/or heat treat, as it is "spring" stock and takes on a different colour.)

Mine took 2 full months to get it in my hands. I haven't shot it yet but seems to be a nice pistol. 1 month was the ordering and shipping and the other was the B.C. CFO? Canpar was great to deal with. I live in a nice safe neighbourhood so delivery while at work was smooth. I would like to order another but even for me 3 1911's is enough???? Thanks Canada Ammo!

My girl bit me. You may snicker but don't laugh out loud. Disassembled it fully today to wash her up and when I pulled the MSH off I sliced my finger on the frame edge. Only a flesh wound, I hardly cried at all. Not many other sharp edges to speak of, so since I won't be fully disassembling that often I won't bother smoothing those edges and removing the bluing. Magazine release is softening up a bit but trigger is HEAVY and slide still a bit gritty when racked but I'll wait until I've put a few hundred through it before I worry about it.
Norc 2 should arrive Tuesday given the long weekend. After I get it cleaned up, I'll get them both to a range and spew some fire and brimstone. Thanks CanAm.

That was only a "love nip," Canthitathing!! Personally I like the sharp edges for the most part - it says "PRECISION"

(to a certain extent).

Where do you shoot, may I ask? I'm presently shopping around for a range that's both affordable and relatively near.

(I'm just north of Newmarket.) Sharon is too expensive for my budget (shame, since I was a member there some 35+

years ago, and they're fairly close) and Stouffville is indoor only, and seem to have a long probationary period.

That leaves Barrie or Orillia, and neither are close! Makes me wish I had 100+ acres in a remote area! LOL

As only an occasional shooter, I don't want to bust my budget...
