The thumb safety on mine is stiffer than I'm used to, but one handed(or one thumbed) still. Slide to frame fit has a little play, but I've seen sloppier fits on higher end guns. I'm so happy with mine I'm off to order another if there's any left.

Thanks for the info... Maybe I should go get the safety looked over by a smith, is way too hard to operate with one hand, any recommendations for a good 1911 smith in or near the GTA?

Ordered on the 23rd and the packages arrived today. Very pleased with how it looks and feels. The finish is better than I expected (although the plastic grips had to go) and very even bluing. Can't wait to shoot it.

Hello Canada Ammo.....

Just wondering how long before it ships?

Ordered April 27 and my status remains...

04/27/2013 Processed - Charged and payment completed

We must have picked a bad time as my ordering date was the 28th and the story remains the same :-(
I ordered on the 23rd, got my transfer in the mail today should ship soon between the 23rd and 28th I would estimate he sold 300-500 kits so have patience and it will take 7-10 days to get here but its free shipping and if your from this neck of the woods you know how great free shipping is for us!

Im very happy to report that after taking this thing to the range today and firing 50 of the norinco rounds through it, its absolutely a pleasure to shoot. Not a single FTF or FTE... literally a perfect 50 rounds. I would have fired ALOT more... but was needed at home.

The mags are super easy to load. They actually ALMOST hold 8 rounds. They arent meant to fit 8, but its really close which makes it very easy to fit the 7th round in by hand. I will say the gun ended up quite dirty after only 50 rounds but nothing I havent experienced with cheap blazer stuff so not a big deal.

I was firing at 10 yards and 20 yards and was hitting a 6 inch circle at 10 yards and about a 10 inch circle at 20 yards... fairly consistently. Im NOT a good shot with a hand gun so this was pretty impressive for me. I found my sights to be off a bit to the left at 20 yards. Not alot and I was easily able to compensate for it.

I found the trigger to be slightly heavy with alot of pre-travel. But the pre-travel is very light so its easy to take up before you actually release anything. The trigger release is quite crisp and, in my case, not gritty at all. There is nearly no post travel. I fired 40 of the rounds very slowly concentrating on accuracy. Then fired the last 10 or so rounds very fast. Again, not a single issue.

I couldnt be happier with this gun. I was only hoping for something "decent" and likely sub par. But IMO the gun I received isnt a beauty but operates excellent. I would have paid double for this and am very pleased I didnt buy something else.

Mine got a little easier after engaging and disengaging it a few times. If my safety was too stiff, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like it ever gets used at the range. That being said, if you want to send it out to a smith, I've heard good things about Rodger at Dark International. One or more of my Norcs will likely make it out to him in the near future for a custom build.

So my gun came with a broken grip. The grip was split above the top screw. I changed them out for cheapy ones that's had laying around. Only problem was the screw was seized. And I mean seized. It was a b*itch to get out and I defiantly need a new screw. It must have something wrong with the threading even tho I could not see any problems but it would not go in any of the other holes.

Anyways I think the grips split because the screws are to tight and the plastic is brittle. My 2 cents

not having the norinco stamp on the slide, wonder why canammo didn't send a few off the the plater for a gold finish, like the DA grizzly they did a while back.... OR maybe they did...:stirthepot2:
