Yeah I dunno about the the registration thing.

I should call in again to ask if they can email me the registration

Good news though. Spent about six hours today.. Dehorned/deburred everything sharp. I my trigger was nice out the box. Seemed very short.

I polished everything I could and now everything is nice. Pretty smooth. I smoothed out as much as I could. Might go back and redo to make it prettier. My trigger now seems lighter now. I didn't do anything other than sand it down and polish.

One thing to keep in mind with sanding/filing/stoning hammer hooks and sear engagement surface is that it should be done as minimum as possible. To maintain engagement angle while keeping toughness, manufacturers usually surface harden these items. That way structure is not too brittle while surface is hard enough to maintain its shape.

Wilson's Bullet Proof products are not surface hardened though, they are modern high hardness and high toughness material... There are similar products from other manufacturers as well... I'm guessing though Norinco probably surface hardens them to reduce cost...

Ordered the 23rd got processed yesterday. Going to go to the CFO office on Monday and get the transfer approved hopefully I'll have it by the end of the week and shooting it next weekend!

So the deal started on the 22nd and they are catching up to orders from the 23rd?

The Johnny Come Latelys ought to start thinking about what sort of lube is best for running their new toy when there's 3 feet of snow on the ground ;)

lol!

More than there are engine upgrades for a Honda civic!

Seriously, brownelles has a an entire catalogue just for 1911s!

Honda civic? I might suggest that there are as many upgrade parts for the 1911 as for the small-block Chevy engine!

Just looked at the brownells website. Too many to choose from. Anyone know what kind of aftermarket sites will fit the norinco 1911s?

Judging by 8bits screen moniker, and the questions he is asking, and the frame of reference used in earlier posts;

I deduced that he may not know about small block chevys...... But guaranteed he does know about Honda Civics!

I made the same analogy to a nephew the other day, he gave me a funny look. So then I said, honda civic..... he got it then!

For all you guys who think doing up a Norinco 1911 is like doing up a chevette or civic you are off base. The metal used in the frame is better than many high end 1911s. It's excellent for a build gun.

haha never had one never well, Dodge ram all the way, i get what you mean tho.

After looking around for prices for a DIY trigger job, paying $80 to a gunsmith will save me a lot of time, and might even be a tad cheaper. Plus I won't end up messing up my gun.

@8bithero
I'm guessing you don't like the trigger pull since you are looking for a trigger upgrade.
