My "Roble Sabana" exotic grips have not yet arrived... (From Costa Rica)

HOWEVER, when they DO get here, I plan on inletting the medallions shown here

just resting on the Chip McCormick grips that I have already installed on my "range baby."

The medallions just arrived today - thought they'd take a lot longer to get here!

(MJOLNIR - "Thor's Hammer.") Yes, I'm of Norwegian ancestry.

Really nice grips and cool emblem,, makes me want to find some Gaelic emblems similar to put on mine!

I was wondering when this thread would get over 300 pages.

Glad to see people loving their 1911's. I've read every page of this thread. If everyone had they would know the grips were pretty much 95% probability going to be replaced. The ones that come with the gun are junk anyway.

I LOVE the wood grips I got from thailand. Thick, excellent texture, no complaints.

Well I must admit the wait was getting to be a bit unbearable. But a wise man once said good things come to those who wait. Well the wait is over and she's here now and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Thanks Canada Ammo:)

Finally got mine out to the range last night after totally stripping it, brake cleaner bath, and good lubing on reassembly. It shoots pretty good,no cracked grips, slide is pretty smooth, locks open on empty mags, but the trigger pull is really really heavy. Another guy at the range took a go at it and thought it was a misfire as it did not fire when he tried it the first time. Any suggestions on smoothing out trigger?

p.s. Thanks Canada Ammo for another great deal

Thats pretty cool, I like the medallions. I'm Norwegian too. Where did you find them if you don't mind me asking?

Holy Service!

I spoke with the BC CFO yesterday, and received a shipping confirmation at 1400hrs yesterday from Canada Ammo. I had a knock on my door at 11am, nothing says good morning like .45!!! Thanks Can Am! The pistol looks fantastic!

Just finished my new members course at the club Saturday
Purchased 08/07/13
Processed 09/07/13
Transfer Initiated 10/07/13

Feels like waiting for my pal/rpal all over again. Looking forward to my first gun though!

Well, DARN!! While I was out, I missed a Canada Post delivery. The only thing

I'm expecting is those exotic wood grips. Won't be able to pick them up until tomorrow

afternoon at the Post Office. :( So, no layout and inlaying for me tonight!!!

Dawg, I personally wouldn't use even a mild abrasive like Autosol on a blued surface...

just my opinion. A good car paste wax may make the surface shinier, if that's what you're after.
