Yeah well; how is $125 Taxes included sound;) this shop is great ,it took less than 2 weeks, I did lots of research some gunsmiths wanted $300 to $400  yeah right!!!
anyhow; this guy's are great, just give them a call or check them on line (internet) the price depends on the number of pieces to be platted and the finish you want(satin nickel, bright nickel, etc) if you don't live in the area you can mail the pieces to them and then they can mail them back I guess more $$$ ,,but for a gun that shiny :D:cheers: its worth it
the name of the shop is "Victoria Platting" B.C ,just google it. Good luck people , Glad I can help ,,:HFU:
I might not be the only guy at the range with the chromed Pistola after this posting:cool:

NICE!

I think I will be doing a bit opposite to most guys here, given my inexperience with the 1911, I am just going to shoot my first one for 5000 rounds or so. This hopefully will get me more comfortable with the feel and design! Then I will start changing out parts, slowly, to see what difference it will make and if it improves my shooting or reliability. Off course some changes will be for the looks! Such as Olivares, looks great, gives me some ideas!
The second one will just be there in the safe for now, the ammo will be sent down range, which reminds me, my 1911 throws the brass nicely over my right shoulder and piles it up 5-6 feet to my 5 o'clock!

A reply to MisterDonut. My Kimber mags are tight in both my Norc 1911's My older one and my combo gun. All 6 of my Norc mags work well in both my Norc guns????? At first some of those were tight but everything did loosen and worked.

Hey man, thanks, good to know. I'll stick with the Wilson Combat mags because I know those fit just fine.

I bought one last Monday, charged Wednesday, transfer started today. Just one problem, I don't have a RPAL yet :D. I did put in the comment to not start the transfer yet but guess they didn't saw it lol. Sent an email and I'm sure everything will be alright!

Great service!

I am 100% in this camp! I placed my order with the original plan to swap out the "Usual Suspects" (grips, beavertail, hammer, trigger...etc). But than I looked in my wallet & thought, hmmm this gun looks mighty clean just the way it is. So I plan to do a detailed strip and clean and polish the F**k out of it and go from there. I'm still swapping out the grips though!

oh yes got new grips, I think that will be my fally,, there are so many cool grips and mag wells and 9 or 10 round mags,, it will be hard to resist trying some of them!
My thoughts are though that I don' t really know enough to change anything so go slow and learn. I can do the work with a bit of YouTube help and the good folks on this site but, how will I know if it is better if I don't get used to the way it is now. Also , I find it great now!

Yeah, I think I'll get another and leave it stock except for the grips. I'll try to get a set of nice wood grips and keeo the classic look.

Reply to olivares. No not sarcastic at all. The Handicraft-Vn.com website has a great selection of grips. But is shipping a concern? One of the sets of 1911 grips were custom made as a tribute to one soldiers Vietnam war expierence. He wanted them similiar to the grips he had made after his Korean war tour. So he served in Korea and Vietnam and has a 1911 honoring both. Can you tell us what your deployment is in Vietnam???
