I would stay away from tumbling live ammo. The vibratory action tends to break down the powder inside the case which can cause a faster burn rate and more pressure or overpressure. Norc 45 is hot enough already :evil:

I use scotchbrite pad to spruce up the really cruddy ones, have not had to crimp any yet just clean them up.
 
Wow mine was picked up in Vancouver on the 23rd and left Moncton Last night!! Not supposed to be here till the 3rd of September!! I figure end of day today or tomorrow!
 
Well, Can Am had it picked up on Monday, tried to deliver it Tues, but I was at work, so they will try to deliver it again today...pretty quick once the ball starts rolling.

This is an old wives tale. the bits of powder are very durable and do not break down. In fact, vibrating the powder is part of the manufacturing process, to coat the graphite.

I once tumbled powder for several days in an experiment to try replacing the graphite with molly. The kernels did not change in any way.

Loaded ammo is perfectly safe to tumble as long as you want. Tumble a few rounds for a week and chrony them compared to un-tumbled.

Can you explain the process as well? How did you get those metal dots on the grip, where fingers go??

I got mine today, along with a few spam cans full of stinky 5.56 that smells like paint. For accessories to qualify for the Sharknado deal, i got two Dlask Stainless Steel mags. Man, I was pretty stuck on Wilson Combat mags, but after handling these Dlask mags, I might have a change of heart. They fit nice, they eject nice, I'll find out if they feed nice this weekend.
 
Argh... Gotta get work in the "for profit" world instead of the "not for profit" world where I live - wages are too GD low here. Me wanna more toys no got money for them.
 
Quick question, didn't have time to read through the 333 pages!

Are the Wilson trigger parts (sear and hammer) cleaning up the trigger pull?

I had a chance to try out a 1911A1 and that trigger felt like it had sand in it...
 
Not very helpful, you could have tried it before posting. I did a few searches before asking the question and nothing comes up except WTS adds and paint jobs.

Anyone care to do a bit of a review on their Wilson (or any aftermarket trigger) parts?

I'm looking to start the project and I'd like a crisp break rather than a light pull

I bet everyone watching this thread would like to hear what works and what doesn't

Mine too, I was on the phone so son signed for it! Just gun and mag in the box, ammo shows delivered but called them up and they said it was on for tomorrow del, no problem but the canpar site shows the ammo in Halifax so why wait till the next day and come back twice!!

Its canpar, they cant get it right. I got the ammo on thursday, the tracking said everything delivered. The next day the same driver showed up and said, oops sorry forgot your gun yesterday, he knew it was a gun, which is also kinda feeaky.
