Norinco 1911 Government - Thoughts? Concerns?

bought one from canada ammo a year ago

PROS
satisfied with my purchase, love canada ammo
fonctions flawlessly
its a 1911
price - 314$ at my door
lots of parts and info available

CONS
expensive to shoot
finish wasn't very good so i polished it a bit so i can re-blue eventually (should have sanded the tooling marks before polishing)
a bit rough, especially the trigger
sights are hard to replace (mine are non adjustable)

i know lately canam sold the government 1911 at 275$... i
check out the SAM at wolverine ... they have some interesting prices 375$ 1911
or maybe 1911 Girsan 550$ https://www.tfcfirearms.ca/frame.cfm?ItemID=427&CategoryID=45
maybe the sport norinco or the chrome one at 350$ would be a better choice

its a nice 300$ gun that you wont regret buyiing it but its a bit rough and needs work
sometimes the extra 100$-150$ can be worth it if finish and smoothness is important

DAMN!....that looks sweet...nice job

My older (I think, I'm the second owner) Norc 1911 has had no issues whatsoever. When I got it, the previous owner had installed a Wolff spring kit and a full-length guide rod (plus some white dots on the sights). I added some Magpul grips and an extended slide release.

It shoots great and so far has eaten Wolf 230 gr RN lead reloads and Winchester White Box ammo with no hiccups or jams.

For $300, you really can't go wrong.

45 ACP is an expensive habit if you don't reload. If you can afford to not reload 45 then you can afford a nicer gun ;)

The SAM 9mm is nice. I did end up with a bit of a lemon but wolverine sent me a new bushing and it shoots excellent now
