Norinco 1911 Grip Screws / Bushings

With regards to Norinco 1911 Grip Screws / Bushings threads. Is it the screws and bushings that are non-standard metric threads or is it the bushings and frame threads? or Both?

In the past I have used grip screws from brownelles to replace lost/misplaced nork ones.

I put a set of slim screw bushings on a nork and the bushings from brownelles turned right in. Same with standard bushings.

I have heard that some people have had trouble fitting replacements, but I haven't......

On my norinco 1911, the bushings are ghetto stabbed onto the frame, 2/4 on mine are very hard to take off.

The thread on the bushing and frame are NOT standard 1911 bushing thread, I have to re-thread the frame using 1911 bushing tap to install new slim profile bushings.
 
I have had several Norc 1911's & this has been my experience.
The threads in the frame for the bushings are non standard. I rethreaded mine to accept
standard grip screw bushings. ( Norinco spare ones are VERY hard to find ).
The Norinco grip screws are a standard thread so other 1911 grip screws work.
 
Early Norks had standard Colt grip stud threads, however somewhere along the line the grip studs have gone metric. Options are to re-thread frame with oversize tap (available from B's) but then you are committed to using oversized grip studs (also available from B's) but aren't they aren't always available for slimline grips OR drill out the grip holes in the frame to 3/8" then drill/tap a length of 3/8 4140 using the standard grip screw threads. Slice off "wafers" in lathe slightly proud of the frame thickness, silver solder in place, file both sides flush to frame and you're back to where Nordinko should've been in the first place. A lot of work but the only way to go to do it properly so standard studs can be used down the road WHEN ( not if) they get buggered because someone didn't Loctite the stud and/or tightened the grip screw tighter than the grip stud and both came off together when the grips were removed. I made extra bushings if anyone wants.
 
New to 1911's...I have a Norinco 1911 Sport and NP29 on the way so am looking at grip options.

So if I wanted Slimline grips I would need different bushing....which are hard to find as they are metric on a Norc...therefore don't order slim line grips?

If I order full size grips with ambi safety cut I should be good to go? The original screws will work?

Should I loctite in the bushings right away with blue loctite to prevent any trouble?

Problems can be averted by not over-tightening the grips screws.
