ok, so I've heard that standard grip screws don't fit the Norinco's because of the metric threading the Chinese use.....But I also heard they DO fit  could anyone with first-hand experience please clarify this for me

I believe it is the grip screw bushings that are different not the screws. Take your Rinco screw off and try a regular grip screw. I think you will find they fit.

Below is my 2nd gen Norc compact. I switched out the factory grip screws with these hex head grip screws when I replaced the stock grips with these double diamond hardwoods:

So, they do work........................................ ;)

Norinco grip screws....

I was told that the screws themselves that attach the grips on the Norc 1911's are imperial, which is the standard, but that the grip bushings use a metric threading.

Is that a correct statement?

If so, how would one go about replacing one of these if one got stripped or damaged? Does anyone except for Norinco make these bushings using a metric threading?

I read that Brownell's sells an oversize bushing and a tap kit. Is this a feasible option? Does it work well, is it as strong, or does it end up becomig a bubba job? Should one just buy a few extra bushings from Marstar?

Thanks
