which one is better the np29 or np28?

Is all foreign to me, I still dont know what the difference is, someone explain it to me haha.

A NP29 uses standard 1911 pattern 9mm magazines, the NP28 uses its own proprietary ones. The 1911 standards are much easier to get.
10 rd magazines for the NP29 do protrude from the grip, NP28s don't. Not a problem.
All Colt style parts for a 9mm 1911 fit a NP29; the NP28 uses some unique parts.
The NP29 is a better choice. Unfortunately, your only option will be to find a used one, until the next shipment from China arrives. You don't see many used ones, which suggests that owners are happy with them.

I missed the last (really small) shipment - seems it was gone in no time and have been waiting patiently for over a year now (or is it 2). Frankly, at this point, I'm willing to advocate the use of the lash on galley slaves

I'm no expert but have looked into NP28, NP29 & their CZ clone NZ85B a fair bit. I got this from a very reliable & respected source: There is a tendancy to have either/both trigger & safety issues with many Norincos. They are often OK, sometimes awful, but rarely good. I was told they are both strong guns once properly set up, but it was strongly recommended I get someone who knows what they are doing to go through them first. Personally though, I would go for the NP29 if you can find one.

I always thought that:
NP29 = Single Stack, therefore 9 rds in std mag
NP28 = Double Stack, therefore 10 rds in std mag

I like the grippy of the NP29, therefore I bought a used one off the EE and had it tx'd to Gunnar for some TLC. I'm pleased with it, and shoot it more often than my glock.
+1. I have a DLask tuned NP-29 and it functions 100% (so far, but only maybe 400 rounds in total), has a fantastic trigger and offers the classic single stack 1911 feel in much more affordable 9mm. I plan to never sell it.
I think an Armco tuned NP-29 would be nearly a perfect 1911 for Canadian use (ie. - range only, target only shooting).

For a fun shooter in the pistol forum, 9mm 1911's are great (OK the guy asked about Nork, but still). However, why bother in action sports. You will be scored as Minor and lose any advantage. Just shoot a 45 in Standard.
