Norinco 1911 np29 owner?

I bought a norc np 29 in the chrome finish and it finally arrived last week upon opening and removing it from the package I noticed a blemish in the finish around the rear sight and 2 scratches in the slide. I have emailed and called the store I purchased it from there reply was as follows


I checked those photos that you sent.
We have sold over 100+ pieces during the sale, all of them has the same finished, including the one that you received is normal

So my question to you guys is are these issue normal? My blued 45 came blemish and scratch free.

Which option is most satisfactory to you?
 
I have bought my share of Norincos over the years and I would not be happy either.
We don't expect a Norc to have an expensive finish but blemishes
and scratches are not acceptable.
Further, the answer that you received says that that sold over a 100 during a sale and they all
looked like yours .
Can you send me a PM with the name of the dealer so that I know where myself and friends will know where NOT buy.
 
I bought one a few years ago when they came out with the "chromium" finish.
The finish was brutal, it was blotchy, the inside was multi-color of gold/brown/silver, it was sloppy loose, sharp enough to shave with, and full of MIM parts. Complete bag of crap all around.
 
I have one in .45 and a NZ85B with blue frame and chrome slide; no marks like that on either of mine.
 
A friend's wife has one in the mail from I presume the same site sponsor. I will let you know how hers looks. Norincos are not known to be a perfect finish, but, that one does look a bit scratched up.
 
I bought the same pistol. I don't think the scratch on the slide is normal (mine doesn't have that) but I do have the same blemishes on the rear sight. It's a great shooter but the fit and finish is not.

This (among others) was on a $1100 1911 when got it and yeah I returned it if your not happy return it.

:) the only good fix for this is a new slide/gun :) ... on a side note, some owners cause this damage in the first day :) and do not care much, the tool works fine

Its a 300$ gun. My np29 the silver on the front half of the slide is different then the back half. And the slide is also a different shade than the frame. A true tri-tone np29.

The dealer will most like said if you wanna pay for shipping back, they will gladly switch it out. IIRc, these guns have a slight margin to them, i mean they usually sell for 329$ and cost is i think $220ish.

To be honest, i laugh everytime some1 complains about scratches on guns. Sure if its a collector thats worth $4k and up. I think half of you will fall over and pass out when you see my Noveske.
 
Sorry to say it looks minor scratch to me . maybe it's an excellent shooter and you send it back and the next one you get is a POS. - garbage. what I would do is see how tight the slide is and check the internals out and if everything looks alright then shoot it . and keep it . now for 300 hundred and some odd dollars I would move on . but if I had paid say 1000 dollars plus and it was a nice blued finish or stainless steel with a scratch then I'd be angry. your choice brother.
 
If that email said, yes it is a scratch and we ****ed up, I would say no problem and move on. But to have that store bull#### you like that. Send it back, take my money back, and never shop there again. I have have one store in my list, but I would add that one too.
 
I have 2 Norincos, NP58 and NP29. Both seems to be near perfect in their manufacturing. However the NP29 may not be as refined, but it was only $320. I really can't be bothered with such minute details as you are getting a gun with a value far above what you are paying for.

Typical Norinco, not enough clearance between the frame dust cover and the slide. You need to file or grind out the frame to provide that clearance.
