Norinco 1911 or p22x

Wolf springs are great, one thing to remember, you can't take eather one of those to the U.S.
But the best 1911 I have ever shoot is a norc. 1911 45, with some work on it.
If you have to pay a gunsmith to do it, them maybe just spend a bit more money and get a sig, or a US 1911
 
I spent a lot of time looking for a cheap well built reliable semi auto for action shooting and bought the NP 29 from Tenda. I am very satisfied with the quality and accuracy of it. The trigger breaks very cleanly and other than a few sharp edges ive polished It is stock and have not had any issues in competition. I also purchased 3 extra Nork mags which work perfectly. The reason I Like the feel of the 1911 grip angle and availability of parts. If something ever breaks its upgrade time! I only wish i would have bought the chrome model vs blued.
 
I also had the NP29, 9mm, stock other than grips, took on trade and shot it some, it was a good gun, enough rounds so the trigger was very good in it.
The bushing/barrel fit was a bit sloppy, as J.B. made them, it was not super accurate, but a custom bush or barrel would have fixed it.
It would shoot anything I put in it very good

I have a Nork 1911 in satin chrome; it is harder to keep looking clean, the sharp edges on the slide were sharper than the standard finishes, and you need a fine industrial diamond stone to take the edge off. Norinco's steel is tough; their chrome seems even tougher!! The adjustable rear sight adjusts in an odd manner, but is a nice sight. I owned a NP29 for a few weeks, it would feed every type of ammo I fed it, by I could never shoot it as well as the .45 or my NZ85B. Having owned a 226 style Nork (NP58), I would have to say it was finished the best of the three, but for shootability and reliability I can't say enough about the 1911 .45 or the NZ85B.
 
I have both and they have both worked flawlessly for about 500 rounds each... I also had the NZ85b but I wasn't as accurate with it so I sold it. it also never had a stoppage while I owned it.

I felt the same way about mine until I put a pair of CZ factory rubber over-molded grips; what a difference. Because of feeding (not accuracy) issues with my NP58, I moved it out and replaced it with a NP40; never found one so for an extra 150 I got a .40 Jericho steel full-sized range kit from Tenda. I wish I could find similar grips for it, but it does shoot like a dream as well.

I did exactly the same thing, felt WAY better in the hands, but I still shot the NP22 far better, so I figured I'd let it go. I kind of miss it as I really liked it and love the look of the CZ's but it just wasn't working for me.
 
I have np29 in chrome and it has been reliable. Parts are easy to come by as well. My 226 clone started out as a problem child but after smoothing out the rails, polishing a few bits and installing an srt kit and an e2 kit it shoots great. Both are accurate and you can't go wrong with either at the price. Also, if you are into striker fired, the Girsan mc28 is a bargain at under 3 bills. From what i hear it takes a lot of m and p parts.

If you like to tinker i recommend a 1911....there is just something about them and the extreme interchangeability/availability of parts can keep you occupied for years.
