Here's one of my unmarked Canada Ammo ones. Tru Glo sights, EGW oversize barrel bushing and firing pin stop, Ed Brown beavertail, flat mainspring with mag well, and long adjustable trigger, Wilson Combat hammer, sear, and mag release, undercut trigger guard, cleaned up the frame cuts behind the trigger, re-contour thumb safety to match the new grip safety, skate tape on the front strap, wood grips from eBay, parkerized in home brew solution.


Here's another unmarked one, my second attempt at working over a 1911. 460 Rowland barrel and comp, Ed brown beavertail and long adjustable trigger, Wilson Combat hammer and sear, EGW oversize firing pin stop, home made magwell welded to filed down and checkered stock mainspring housing, undercut trigger guard, cleaned up the frame cuts behind the trigger, checkered front strap, re-contoured the thumb safety to match the new grip safety, home made grips, parkerized in home brew solution. Still have to install a Bomar style rear sight, fiberoptic front sight, and refinish the slide.




I did all the work myself with basic hand tools, with the exception of the sight dovetails on the first one. All the parts were ordered from Brownells.

Curious here...I own an NP 28 and an NP 29.......i know i am probably out of luck with the double stack 28.....but do any "standard " 1911 parts interchange on the 29?

The N29 is pure Colt clone. The only odd ball things are the threads on the grip screw bushings. Colt type parts all fit.


The double stack is also a clone, except for the fat mag and the fat trigger bow to go around it.

After the $500 CanAm 1911 & ammo deal came out, there were a few guys that removed the blueing, buffed up the carbon steel to a high shine and just oiled the bare metal. They looked fantastic in the pics.

Its now a couple of years later and I would loved to hear and see how these guns have fared. I live in the PRA (Peoples Republic of Albertastan) where it is quite dry, and might go down this route if keeping the rust at bay is not too hard.

Would love to hear from anyone who has one of those 1911s.

I removed the bluing on two of my non marked 1911's, and have yet to see any form of rusting i stayed with the dull look on mine though never buffed them up at all just used a chemical bluing remover and srtripped them, I think they look cool

This is one I did last year. I'll post the parts I put into it tommorrw. It's pretty much a norinco slide frame and barrel. Everything else is something else.

Nice...what adjustable rear sight are you using?

It's the factory sight that came with the chrome norc. It was canted and lose, and I fixed that up. Also painted the dots. Very good sights once they where fixed up.
