Anyone know if Norinco is no longer making the original style 1911 pistol anymore?
I don't care for all the ambi features, big dove-tail, extra large controls or the extra cut marks on the slide

Might be easier to find an older used Norc 1911 on the EE. They are pretty cheap and the steel is good.

I also like them plain but this one does have a beavertail.

They are cost effective enough that you can buy one, and add what ever you need to make it what you want. I'm picking mine up today and it is what I want; 5" barrel and adjustable target sights; bought it very lightly used from a dealer at a substantial saving over new. I will polish and tune before going to the range.

Not bare bones, but I picked mine up yesterday; lightly used, cleaned it up, knocked the sharp edges off of it and headed for the range. The adjustable rear sight is incredibly well made and thought out; detent adjustable, and a locking screw to lock the elevation once set, and a lock nut to lock the windage once set also. Function was perfect over one box with Wolfe re-manufactured ammo.

I think the previous owner may have had some function problems as the gun was full of a waxy mix of cosmoline and GSR; likewise, the sight was screwed all the way down, and was locked there causing it to shoot way low; windage was about 4" right. A little adjustment, and I am now getting hand sized 5 shot groups at 20 yards. A tiny bit more muzzle jump than my 9 mm NZ85, but it seems to me to have less felt recoil. Trigger has a bit of play side to side, but the takeup is smooth and short, and the break seems pleasantly light and crisp with little overtravel. White paint in the dimples on the chrome sights was ####ty, so I used acrylic florescent red paint, and they are really visible now!

I'm impressed.
