Norinco 1911 pistols

Does anyone know if the aftermarket parts for Colt 1911 style pistols will fit and function in the Norinco pistols?
I'm interested in the Norinco NP-29 in 9mm but I'm left handed, so I would need to put on a ambi. safety lever.
I put the ambi. safety on my 1927 Colt pistol with no problems but I'm not sure if the Norinco's tolerences are the same?

Parts interchange !

You should have no problem with aftermarket parts on your Norinco , they should all fit with one exception . I beleive that they use a metric gripscrew bushing and grip screws so you may have to change or have changed to sae thread !

I have put several after market parts onto my Norc. The only fitting that was required was the beaver tail, but I knew that was coming.

If its made for a Colt, it will fit a Norc! ..... For the most part..... usually......

Norc 1911's grip screw bushings where they fit to the frame have a different thread than regular mil-spec 1911/1911A1's. But the internal threads of the bushinngs where the grip screws themselves go in have mil-spec same thread. So you could replace your slotted grips screws with ones with hex heads etc.

To the OP.... you should have no issue fitting an ambi safety to a Norc 1911 pistol.

If you are looking for an NP29, that might be an issue, as they are currently made from "unobtainium"....

Thanks for the replies! Thats just what I needed to know.
I almost bought a Star surplus 9mm back when Century International had them in.
No aftermarket parts were available for my left handedness though so I didn't.
