gif hosting[/IMG]I recently purchased my first 1911, a norinco. Has had some work done, feed ramp polish and jeweling of hood, trigger is light(but slightly sloppy) at 3.5-4lbs, grips were changed. Took it to the range, excellent grouping, 100 rounds with a "cheap" kimber mag, no problems, a FTE on the last round with, what I think is, the factory mag. Any recommendations on a replacement trigger, I find it a bit sloppy, and don't like front ridges on the trigger. Any other "must have" upgrades other owners would suggest?
Overall impression is positive, but it is my first 1911, so I'm comparing it to my other semi-autos (Jericho 40s&w, Jericho .45 acp, PPQ navy 9mm). The .40 Jericho is my workhorse, but this cheap nork is really much better than price would indicate.

My 2 "upgrades" that I like most and have on my 1911s are shown below..
Wilson combat oversized mag release. I dont have large hands so it helps alot.
And a mainspring housing with mag well for easier reloads. Not sure what make it is in the pic. Have Ed brown snakeskin housing on my other 2 1911s. Snakeskin pattern is super grippy.

When I got my first handgun, a Remington R1 Enhanced, I didn't change a thing until I shot it a bunch. After that I changed:

Grips: installed a VZ ETC G10s
Trigger: Wilson Combat Ultralight Gold Cup Long Trigger
Magwell/Mainspring Housing: Wilson Combat bullet proof one piece magwell

Installing and fitting these pieces really helped me learn the platform. I feel far more prepared to deal with any future issues that may come up. More importantly though, my time shooting lots of rounds before making changes gave me direction on what I wanted to change.

Shoot it. Shoot more, then change one thing at a time until you're happy (spoiler: you'll never be happy!)
