Your two best bets are Gunnar at Armco, or Rodger at Dark Int'l
I think armco's 100$ shipped deal for trigger action job is pretty good. As for compensator you can get a bushing one for 60bucks or so. I am not sure how effective they are. Am curious if anyone has any experience as I am thinking about one for my wife's 1911 commander. A match barrel ported with compensator attached be about 350.00

Got my NP-29 back just this past wednesday and took it to the range that night - it's fantastic! Action is like a swiss watch and the trigger breaks as crisply as a dry toothpick right at 3 1/4 lbs consistently with no creep.
Can't say enough good things... well maybe this will help: I'm considering sending my other more expensive & higher end handguns there for the same treatment, cause now they just don't live up to my el-cheapo Norinco Plinko thanks to Gunnar!

I'll second or third the vote for Gunnar but having said that I have never had any dealings with Rodger .
Gunnar has my 625 for a trigger and tune so I can't wait for it to come back.

Another vote for Gunnar, frankly unless you go off the deep end (full custom with hand fitted everything) there is nothing that any other 1911 can do that one of Gunnars tuned Norcs can't. You might want a 'better' 1911 but it won't do anything better.

.Mine has a little more than that done to it, but these are the same things you'd get done to a factory stock Colt or Springer. The ramp is polished, trigger cleaned up and the slide to frame contact is smoothed, also the extractor is set up so it doesn't spit the brass back into your face, or drag it back into the feed lips. Frankly the end result is a totally different feel to the gun. If you're having that done, I recomend the Novak Competition sights, very clear sight picture. After that, all you need to do is reload - 'cause the guns are addictive to shoot and you'll be poor quick if you don't reload.

Because the .45 ACP is a low pressure round, porting or compensating will not do much. It is much more effective in reducing recoil with high pressure cartridges, since there is that much more gas moving at speed out of the ports, pushing against the recoil movement. It will reduce recoil some, but not virtually eliminate it like you would see in a .38 Super open class IPSC gun.
