Norinco 1911, what one??

I'm looking a picking up one of the Norinco 1911's.

They have two varieties the singe-stack and the double-stacks.
Other than the magazine/ grip size/ frame is there much of a difference?
Are the part interchangable with other 1911's pistols.

Tell me why I should buy one over the other.

(Yes I know one hold 10+1 rounds the other 7+1)
 
Single stack all the way.

The single stack is a good copy of the M1911A1. All standard parts, interchangable with other 1911 parts.

The double stack version is not as compatible, creating some problems if you want to change grips or have new mags.
 
Go single stack- no proprietary magazines or parts. Also, 1911s tend to work best in the original configuration: single stack, .45 ACP, 5" barrel.

If you really want 10 rounds per magazine, you can get extended 10 round ones for single stack 1911s.
 
Why a norc??????

I am getting a pair of cheap 1911's, and I'm almost certain that I'm going for some Para GI Experts. I spoke to Roger at shooters choice in Alberta and he says that they are an awesome pistol for the money......

He has some coming in in January for $695.00. :eek:

For myself it was a toss up between springfield and para. I went with springfield for the forged slide and frame.

Luckily I did because a local shop had a Para GI Expert and when I manipulated the slide it felt like there was sand in it. Metal on metal grinding *cringe*.

I was at WSS checking out the 1911s and all was great until I was given a Smith SW1911, it was the two tone model and it felt like it was thrown together. I pulled the slide, it bound up half way back as if it had a high spot on the frame or something,,, and if I let it back easy, it would bind up and almost hold on that spot and then push past and go the rest of the way forward.... then I tried the mag release and it was CRUNCHY.....:eek:

I was totally shocked. I was a couple hundred more than the Kimber Custom IIs and the fitting was terrible.... I almost ordered one online when I first got my RPAL..... Now Im glad I didnt.
