Norinco 1911 ??

Nothing wrong with a Norinco. Form, fit and function = acceptable. Basically, a very basic gun with lots of potential. Can be refinished, tuned for less than the price of a branded equivalent. Just don't expect to get the quality of say an STI Spartan even after spending a bit of money. If you are looking for some DIY mods, this is the gun for you.

If you were talking about a 45 1911, I'd say get the Norc (but the SAM's are worth the extra). A 9mm 1911 is, however, a slightly different creature. On 9mm 1911's, get the SAM, you can thank me later.

ETA - I'm definitely NOT a Norc basher, I have owned loads of them and never had a lemon, but in this case, get the SAM.

You are correct, i wasn't clear in my comment, was comparing the nickel Norinco 1911 .45 $350, with a nickel Sam .45 $550 ish.

Why not a norinco sig clone those seem to be decent out the box and in your price range
