Norinco 1911A1 Testing

Test fire my new 1911A1 few hours ago.

Ammo - reload 230gr Montana gold FMJ
W231 5.9gr
Starline Brass
Weather - snowing, a bit windy and cold
Target distant - 12 meters
Note:- the only upgrade to the gun are a pair of wood grip & aluminum trigger.
The following were shot thru a rest -

Out of 150 rounds fired - there was no FTF or FTE.
I am impressed, what you guys think ?
 
I'm sure the wind must have had some effect. From my experiences I'm consistantly able to group quite a bit tighter than your pics when using a rest @ 15 meters. I'm shooting a Norc Commander by Armco, which probably also plays a part in the accuracy I'm seeing.

Edit: I should add that I think your groups are decent for sure and that I'm certainly no expert. I use A.E. ammo at 230gr. My "rest" is just the table top, I really need to get something more appropriate.

Especially Armco tuned Norico's! I've very happy with mine (for the price) and Armco also added nice grips for $40.00 and I bought a holster for about $35.00.

Not bad groupings!
 
I have a Norc 1911 9mm which is tuned by Gunnar at Armco. I absolutely love it. Best 100$ you can invest in your Norinco in my opinion. I also have a Norinco NP-22 which is their SIG. This one has not been tuned but is absolutely amazing. Dead Accurate, smooth function, no malfuntions what so ever up to date and beautiful finish. I love both of my norcs very much. :D

They are without any doubt the absolute best bang for the buck in Canada. Now I haven't had the luck of trying all their pistols, like their CZ's, Browing HP, Tokarev's etc... So i can't be sure for the rest of them. But the 1911's and their Sigs are fantastic right out of the box. And with the 1000$ you saved, adding maybe 300$ back into the gun with a tune up from Armco (100$) Grips, and whatever else tickles your fancy, you have 700$ that you can spend on ammo and Heck... Buy everything you need to start doing your own relaoding, then you STILL have money left over to buy you wife a little something so she doesn't give you grief on buying a new toy;)


Back to the topic lol. You made a sound descision on your purchace. Nice shooting :) I was able to group all my shots within the Bullseye with my Norc Commander and a little less tight of a group with my Norc Commander. The only reason I longer own those 2 beauties was because i made a descision to only shoot 9mm to keep the cost of the hobby down.
 
That's not bad for the first time out. I'm sure your groups will tighten up as you get familar with the pistol. If you were shooting at PoCo yesterday, I found it pretty fricken cold especially when the wind gusted up and I wasn't shooting that well because of my teeth chatter but 'a bad day at the range is better than a good day at work....' :D

Im wondering if those flyers were the first or last shots ? And you shot that from a rest at 12 meters? Personaly I would be quite disapointed, especialy if those are the best targets of the day.

Ahhhh finally a pro-Norinco thread :D

Just got to clean the factory gunk out, replace the grips because the stock grips are distractingly toy-like and the rest takes care of itself. No regrets!

Hmm I would also be quite disapointed, I just got a norc commander from armco the other week and I'm getting 2- 2 1/2 inch groups at approximatly 10-15 meters from the standing. I'm pretty new to pistols so maybe I'm out to lunch on my standards and have just been blessed with luck and an accurate pistol.

I picked up a case of 7.62x25 on Friday and shot my Norinco Tokarev for the first time on Saturday. The finish on it is so crude I asked the other people there to be sure to call an ambulance for me when it blew up ... but when I tried it, WOW! Very enjoyable to shoot.

Now I have a Norc CZ on order. :D

Cool, I'd be very interested in hearing some feedback on their CZ copy. When you get it, make sure you post a range report and try very hard to put up some pics of the gun :D

Not bad. You can do better though. Require more shooting, lots of shooting YES!
The norinco definetly is a good shooter for the price. Your gun has the nutz to put on paper what you did at 12m supported, out to 25m using a two-handed combat grip standing unsupported. Just to let you know how good your going to get.
