Norinco 223/556 ammo at Canadian Tire: Which is it?

Norinco I get around 3-4 moa from my T97. About average for all the cheap 55 grains

So me being the rookie that I am, you are saying a 3-4 MOA at 100 yards? So at 100 yards you are getting a 3-4" spread? Sorry for the stupid question, like I said I am super new at MOA's. I grew up with "Damn, off an inch to the left...click click click." Appreciate the help.

I've shot thousands of rounds of Norc ammo through my AR's, it has the same accuracy as Federal AE, around 3MOA, so 3" groups at 100yds. You're not going to do any better then that with any 55gr 5.56 ammo. Never had any misfires or malfunctions with it and if you reload the brass is pretty good as well. You could put a mixture of Federal and Norc ammo in my mags and asides from the weird smell of the Norc's burnt powder I wouldn't know the difference.

3-4" spread at 100 yards Yep. Which is all you will really get with any of the cheap 55gr bullets.

If you want better you're looking at over a dollar a shot for heavier grain match ammo.

Thank you for the info guys. Sounds like the best bang for the buck for having fun. When I can afford and need match grade ammo I'll worry about it then lol. Thank you again for all the help.

I am sure its not in Calgary tho if it is PM me the location please I could use more Norc
It goes band and I get about 3-4MOA out of my XCR
For accuracy I went reloaded or the PMC 62gr Greentips seem to shoot very well

Dumb analogy, 38spl and 357 mag are not interchangable both ways.
I still have not heard a definite answer why they are not interchangeable,it's all maybe and might.
I realize there is a tiny difference in chamber size, but nobody has produced a firm answer noting pressure, velocity or dimensional differences that I've seen anyway.
But what do I know?
My AR-15 takes both .223 / 556. What is stamped on your rifle barrel?

Quoted from http://smith-wessonforum.com/ammo/87224-5-56-nato-223-remington-interchangeable.html

"Generally speaking it is Ok to fire .223 in weapons chambered for 5.56 but not 5.56 in weapons chambered in .223.
Think shooting .38 special in a .357 magnum."

This is what I know, I could be wrong. A .357 revolver will shoot the .38 special. The .38 special has less powder and has a slightly shorter case than the .357 mag and will fit. The .38 will NOT handle the .357 mag as it is too long and the pressure is more than a .38 revolver will handle safely.

Last question anyone try reloading the brass from those Norinco crates? Wonding if after a guy reloaded with heavier lead for better groups and save a little cash; thoughts?

I'll be reloading the brass but probably just using surplus ammo WC735 with 55gr as more plinking ammo
If you wanna load precision or more accurate rounds I'd probably just find better more consistent brass

Roadcarver described it in a perfect way. Look at your rifle barrel : if it says 223 DO NOT use any 5.56 in it. You might get a nasty surprise one day or the other. If it says 5.56, then you can use both. Look at both cartridges in detail. if you measure it you will see that the 5.56 is slightly "bigger".
