This isn't a Norinco bashing thread. This is my first failure outside of the occasional hard-primer in close to 8000 rounds.

Was shooting the other day and got a failure-to-fire. Tried to extract the round but couldnt, so I waited for everything to cool down and then extracted it with a pair of pliers.

The rim had ripped off and the primer ignited, but it didnt ignite the powder. Is it just coincidence that the rim failed, as I dont know how the primer would have enough power to damage the case?

Looks like there's a flash hole, but it's obstructed. The OP needs to complete his homework and remove the bullet and powder and further examine the flash hole. If just debris, is it brass, and easily removed?

I pulled the bullet at the range to see if the powder had burned at all. No burn and no flash hole looking from the inside (just looked after I noticed).

There was no damage to the bolt or any other component. What was left of the primer was sitting behind the bolt lugs.
