Norinco .223 Ammo makings ont the outside 5.56 on the inside ?

.223 in a 5.56 rifle = OK
5.56 in a .223 rifle = NO-GO !

I think most of the Norc stuff is 5.56 but I also think that the yellow boxes was really .223 so I think they made both but I can be wrong.

Personally, I fired a couple hundred of rounds of Norc 5.56 CJ95 without any problems.

The yellow box was pretty damn hot if it was .223, which it wasn't.

I just bought a crate.
No discernible markings on the wood crate, inside 2 tuna cans with white label Norinco 5.56 Nato ball
1995

As far as I know all Norinco is 5.56. It's cheap (390 + GST for 1120) and it works.

So you tell us its not .223 ?

I don't care what it says on the box, Norinco never made .223 for the civilian market, they did however had cute yellow boxes made to sell off their military contract overruns to civilians, and this is what this is. I shot crates of the yellow boxed stuff. Significantly hotter than .223.

Heck we just got the stuff a few years ago, but in the 90's in the U.S. the yellow boxed Norinco was all the rage.

And yes people have tested the yellow box on the chrony when it came in, again significantly hotter than 223.

Whatever it's loaded with, it sure stinks when fired!!!

Sure does stink when fired. I think they add in a little human waste as filler in the case with a good dose of very fast burning powder. This stuff is as hot as any M193 out there.
