Norinco .223 brass "holes"

Had one today after 400 good rounds..Lot 29 with DDM4 V5
White smoke out of magazine well.
No Chamber damage.

Yup... That looks like a doozy. Now, you have to make the choice whether or not to continue putting it through your rifle. I bet if you look real hard there will be a mark on the chamber.

Looks like I bought 1120 pulled bullets and power.... only problem is I will be the one pulling the bullets and dumping the powder!! Will have to weigh the powder charges and mark that on the container for future reloading or buy a #### load of brass and run them through my Dillon. Too bad as the rounds I did fire (about 100 I think) were just as accurate as the American Eagle stuff I bought a few years ago. I think about 3 inches which was plenty good for running and shooting fun!

Finally opened up my 1120 rounds I bought from canada ammo last year when they had 10 percent off.

Cj95 lot 33.

After searching on CGN no problems found with lot 33. I'm hoping for the best. Might just sell it off for what I got for it.

This is going to run in my tavor.

Anyone with insight on lot 33 that I may have missed?

The stuff can be fairly accurate, and it is a lot of fun to shoot, but the drawback is: will it bite you in the ass? So far there have been no accounts of dangerous failures to the operator, but the possibility is there, and it has been recommended (within this thread) NOT to continue use of any ammo that is showing this flaw.

By this logic, nothing is safe to shoot.

I ran 100 rounds of white box lot #02 today through my da556. One puffed smoke out the magwell and when I checked the brass sure enough there were two cracks toward the base of the case. Will post pics tmrw. No damage as far as I can tell. Was gonna jump on the buy 3 get 1 free but now I'm not sure.

Shot 100 rounds of the white box lot 33 last weekend.

All brass I picked up was just fine. No popped primers or split brass casings.

check the link for pics of the holes on LOT#02

I had one go on me today, had the puff of smoke out the magwell, Found the brass, a single line through or key hole. Took it apart no damage, no marks in the chamber.

Not good.

Sorry guys I don't have a lot number. I bought 2 crates a couple of months ago. 1 I opened and put into ammo cans and the other is not opened yet. After reading this entire thread I went and collected all the brass (I could find) from the roughly 500 rounds I have shot. I found 2 with the holes. This one and another one with 2 holes. At this point I will continue to use it and let you know if I find any more.

Hi all!
I have this issue as well! From an S&J hardware 10.5" barrelled AR, as well as my Dlask 18.5" barrelled ACR.
It is white box norinco, lot 25 I think (I had dumped the boxes into an ammo can)
I have shot almost a whole crate (around 800-900 rounds) and I found at least a dozen "fire-cut" casings, I'm sure I had a few more casings that I diddnt get to find though.
I haven't noticed any damage to any chambers. And I haven't checked the flash-holes yet, but I will start checking them from now on.
ALL "fire-cuts" are near the case rim, NONE have been on the neck/shoulder.
Accuracy has been poor, between 4 and 6" groups at 100yds.
